See Legal Eagle has been installed as favourite for the Sansui Summer Cup, with stable companion, French Navy, installed as second favourite (as per H/wood betting). Would be interesting to know whether Tarry is planning on running both horses in both the Summer Cup and the Met, anyone heard any whispers?

Before the running of the July, not sure whether I dreamt this, heard this or read this, but Tarry was on record saying, had the July been run at Turffontein, he felt French Navy would not finish ahead of Legal Eagle!

Anyone read or heard when Legal Eagle will be making his seasonal debut, reason I ask, maybe they plan on running him fresh in the Summer Cup or, conversely, they have no intention of running him in the Summer Cup and will send him straight to Cape Town?

Pure hunch, I think French Navy is being aimed at the Summer Cup and Legal Eagle the Met, so maybe the current price 8 or 10/1 depending where you go, is a good price about French Navy.

Bayern, I really rate Legal Eagle but his rating is very high and even though giving weight to the field in the Summer Cup would be a massive runner. The Met being a conditions race would have him well in with most of the field. Wouldn't want to be a trainer and have to make these decisions.

ASSuming Leagle eagle races in the met, as shrek said, he will be carrying more weight than would have (obviously) in big races last year. Should he race in the trotting Cape races (once again its a slow pace like last year), he will not touch the beast with the quickest turn of foot in the country (once again assuming it runs) FUTURA!

Howzit C, as Englander said the other day, nice to "see" you again. Think I'm going to train a fly and send it to the Tarry office, with a mini go-pro attached to it's back.

Must be honest, don't believe Tarry is desperate to run the two against each other.
