Track is still wet. There are patches which are clayish and others which are mud which is not drying. (Wow, that just sounds so familiar...just like what started happening at Vaal Sand....will Turf work in Kimberley ?)
Local Trainers have their doubts about tomorrow.
Please bear in mind our costs to get there....
We have been rained out twice this year and carried the costs.
Also, I hear of a lot of complaints about Trip Tease coming down there. Apparently the fact that good horses running there may be good for the region has not crossed these people's minds.
The bottom line is that I was shocked to see how the course had gone backwards in a year, when I first got there again a few weeks ago. This is exactly what happened at Vaal Sand.
Whilst there will always be desperados out there, I believe that the sensible Trainers and Jockeys will soon take a stand. Lets hope that they can get the track back to the state in which the late Peter Miller kept it. Or even just close to that will be good.

Well its close to 5.30am and no track staff on the course yet. Our big float has left already. The small float taking Trip Tease and the baby will leave at 6am. Hope we not in for another financial hiding....

Just been told the tractor been on track from yesterday... we should race
But can we trust the surface enough to punt?
Do we just punt the raiders? with the locals unable to excersize?

Our sand tracks have never really had any consistency....................some days were just worse than others ...............you only have to compare them to how the US dirt tracks handle adverse weather to wonder who designed our sand tracks and whose friends or family got the lot!
