It will be a good learning curve for him for his future racing. He will see what the real value of his horses are and the prices that he sells the unraced horse for will be at a huge loss as the underbidders might not be there.

There are also a number of unraced 3 yr olds (and the odd 4yr old)which may or may not be showing anything!
...but what is significant is the many well bred 2 yr olds !!!
Will be interesting to see where VVuurens involvement in racing is going!
I wonder if there will be any media release .........surely there is an interesting story in this for a journalist somewhere!
I thought he made it pretty clear earlier on why he was getting out as a big owner. It seems to me that he was getting a lot of abuse from every tom dick and Harry on racing forums the racing press, and from pundits . Abashiri running in the July, his purchase of expensive horses who were not performing, were all fodder for a bunch of disparaging remarks from opinionated people who really have no stake in his affairs. Some of the stuff was personal. Obviously an enthusiastic family who were enjoying racing who got soured by all the BS. Why spend all that money on a hobby that inherently has so many downs, that the few ups you get are tarnished by random people ? He may have been a bit thin skinned about some of the comments and opinions, but it did seem to me some petty people were taking great delight in sticking the boot in wherever they could.
Huge loss to the industry.

Working on a conservative 10k a month you are not at 50% of the figure. The question that must be asked is why is he leaving, there is more to this than meets the eye and there are some very tall stories doing the rounds.
I wonder if maybe he cannot discuss the reasons ,AND keep his colors, due to a new rule instituted by the NHA .....lol

according to TAB stats the Azzie yard earned just over 2 million is stakes between 1Aug - 1Nov if all the horses on sale are from one yard then he is losing around 350k per month ( 100 horses @ 10k per month) with a capital investments of millions
hopefully he made it back on punting

Surely his loss in training fees alone would be approx. R1 million? per month ........
I often wondered who the "real " owners of the horses were?....

Do you think 100 million dropped in the last 3 years is to conservative ? It sure is a big loss for the game as I quite enjoyed their new fresh enthusiasm. But someone previously on this forum said "this game tames tigers"
