Yeah. There is not a lot in the field which will instil fear in any of the other runners connections. I suppose that it really does look open and many have a chance

It's my turn weighted well but needs Strydom to do what he did last year from that draw

Not as good as touted but odd that Horizon fails to get in. Yet Pagoda and the bang average Tilbury Fort get in. Can anyone explain this and what the hierarchical order of qualifying criteria is?

Re: Durban July Final Field
8 years 2 months agoTilbury beat many older contenders in the 1900 - Pagoda finished only 1.75 behind Al Sahem in the Derby, finishing ahead of H Blue - his last run was first at Greyville while Horizon had 3 starts there - I do however believe Horizon should have been given a run before Black Arthur as he is a younger horse that has more scope to improve - We hear that BA is working so well but we have yet to see it on a racecourse this season (undisputed fact born out by his lack of wins and poor earnings) - I have no doubt that if a certain other trainer had Horizon he would have had a run.Benevolent wrote: Not as good as touted but odd that Horizon fails to get in. At the end of the day, the July is a better race with Black Arthur IN it....recent form may not be fantastic, but there is not doubt as to his proven ability.

8 years 2 months agoNot biting - my opinion every year certain stables do the same thing when other horses spend months racing for places -pirates wrote: mr h what price will you lay me that black arthur will beat home more than beats him?as per your reasoning he should be at the bottomof your betting boards?
