if you fancy it to win, then you should back it regardless of what anyone says....its your money after all.
personally I would not back Black Arthur at any price, never put a cent on it last year, also last year there was a lot of hype about it as well...firstly, I have my resevations , whether it can see out the 2200, and from past experience when the snaiths do a lot of talking about a horse, it gets beat by the stable on a higher price, go and check it out. Most of the horses have finished in front of Black Arthur, over the longer distances, go check it out....lastly my fancy IT'S my turn will finish in front of Black Arthur , where ever it finishes.....

Is there any race or collateral form where we can get an indication of how the 3yr old crop match up against the older horses.

One such race would be the Greyville 1900 - Tilbury Fort

Vee Moodley mentioned that the 3-year olds are underated by the handicapper by 10 pounds.

Snaith also mentioned that the 3 year olds are better, and if any 4 year olds has to beat them he hopes its his 4 year olds..................so its 3 year olds against the 4 year olds, with some 4 year olds well in at the weights

The Met, Al Sahem handicap debut after maiden win , Safe Harbour empress club and Paddock Stakes , Pagoda beating Amsterdam and Negromara Grad Plate , Cup Trial Crowd Pleaser beating Black Arthur, Tilbury Fort half length behind Coral Fever getting 1.5kg etc

I think Gold Standards 115 says it all. I do not believe that Edict of Nantes and Al Sahem are 8 and 9 points worse than Gold Standard. Off a 107 and 106 both the top 3 year old's seem to come into the race well treated. Like I said before it looks like it is their race to lose.
