The Mauritians have an effective police force which has horseracing in its scope. There lies the difference. The MHRA can have the biggest balls in the world but cannot implement effectivel without a police force.

Any update on this matter.
Would like to know what the real story is?
somehow I feel Muzi Yeni and other jockeys was innocently involved in this story
Read on FB the boat was rented by Justin Vermaak.
Isn't he responsible for the persons he invites on the cruise
Surely they won't have invited them self's
As a world traveler he should have know a bout the rules regarding Jockeys and bookmakers?
not accusing, just asking

Just a further point
I don't for one moment if those jockeys knew they were socializing with a bookmaker and it can jeopardize their future and livelyhood they would have been so stupid to knowingly do it.

Always amazes me when racing insiders gather the troops to defend their own, the Mauritian authorities take integrity seriously. So why can't we?
Also are these guys athletes or Drivers? Should one be partying midweek?

We race once a week here, this was a Monday morning. Donovan Habib, his son and Justin Vermaak were down from SA and they went on a Cat trip. (A very popular day out here in Mauritius). Nothing wrong with that! The big question is, how did Ashley Jankee (the Bookie) get the nod??
Ive spoken to Raymond and he said at no stage did this guy ever mention he is a bookie. The most puzzling thing about this whole drama is that the bookie recorded the clip from his phone himself and then leaked it. I mean how dumb can you be??? He too will face the arm of the law and most likely lose his license, some have even mentioned jail time.

Thank You Mark for your response
My question is why is the authorities so hard on them?
surely as they didn't know the person was a bookie how can they be guilty of anything?
are hey suppose to go around and ask every person they socialize with if they are a bookmaker?
