Isnt it a little ironic that Muzi is in such hot water in MAU for socializing/talking to a bookmaker, yet back in SA, he is sponsored by one

Looks like a set up to me...not sure why though. These jocks cannot be so reckless to do this so openly, knowing full well the repercussions. I would have been more suspicious if it was a clandestine meeting...or secretly recorded etc...
Or maybe its just because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt

I recalled in one of Douglas Whyte interviews he mentioned he does not socialize with other jockeys after work because it maybe perceived by the public as collusion. This is in Hong Kong.

Good for the Mauritius Jockey Club we should invite them here , to get SA racing 6
On the right track .As for the said Jocks you only get what you deserve .We really really
need this kind of control here urgently. As I have difficulty in believing that this is a isolated incident
I believe that racing is controlled by the Bookies .

Re: Muzi Yeni

Excuse the english, Google translated.
Each week pass brings a lot of surprises and scandals in the world horse racing. We shall not go so far as to mention all the affairs which have shaken the Champ de Mars since the season began, but the latest has resulted in two jockeys, namely Raymond Danielson and Brandon Lerena, being suspended for three months . Another jockey, Muzi Yeni, faces an "objection to departure" and was therefore deprived of a ride in the July Handicap, the most prestigious race of South Africa. The South African is waiting to pass again before the board of race stewards.
The bookmaker Ashleysingh Junkee is "missing", the Police of the Games has still not been able to identify it in the photos that circulate since Monday on the social networks. However, the new scandal has hit the horse racing world - in the midst of a crisis - since the revelations of Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) president Raouf Gulbul before the Commission of Inquiry on Drugs.
The month of August promises to be hot despite the winter ... This case, which is known today as the Catamaran Party, began as of Sunday June 25, when screenshots of messages of an account circulated WhatsApp, which would come from jockey Muzi Yeni. These screenshots published in particular on the Facebook page Zougaturf - which is no longer accessible since - suggest that the jockey Muzi Yeni would have solicited favors in return for a "pipe". In addition, during the day of Monday, June 26, a public holiday, video and photos leaked on the web. They feature three jockeys and a personality of the South African turf gathered on a catamaran enjoying a good time under the Mauritian sun.
These jockeys are Raymond Danielson, from the Perdrau team, Brando Lerenza, from the Rousset stable, Yeni Muzi, who was still under contract with Ricky Maingard. Is also identified on the video Justin Vermaak, agent of the jockey Bernard Faydherbe. The euphoria of public leave past, Tuesday's day would start at 100 an hour, both for the GRA - who was informed in the meantime of Yeni Muzi's WhatsApp message and the video of the catamaran outing - that For the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC).
An early investigation that gives nothing ...
Very early on Tuesday morning, the GRA asks the MTC to act in the case of Muzi Yeni, Especially in the matter of messages exchanged on WhatsApp. The board of race commissioners launches an inquiry shortly before 11:30 am. In the message that is sent to the press, the communication officer of the MTC stresses: "Since Muzi Yeni must return to South Africa urgently for the Judy (Handicap), the board of race commissioners summoned him for a Which will be held before 11:30 am today (Tuesday). Meanwhile, GRA CEO Divya Ringadoo has taken the lead in informing the Police of the Games of the facts that have been reported in the Noel Callow case, which had left the country in secret in a similar context. In his possession. She also requested an "objection to departure" against Muzi Yeni.
During the day of Tuesday, June 27, a statement bearing the signature of Stéphane de Chalain, Chief Stipendiary Steward of the MTC, said that after investigation, nothing was found against the South African jockey. "Jockey Muzi Yeni said that he had never met Mr. Curpen and that he had never had a conversation with him. He added that he was aware that such a screenshot was broadcast on social networks and that he voluntarily submitted his cell phone to the Commissioners for control. After the inspection, the commissioners established that there were no such names / contacts on his mobile phone or in his WhatsApp account. "
He continues: "Muzi Yeni also said that similar things are happening in South Africa, where the names of jockeys and false profiles are used by people for reasons unknown to him. He concluded by vehemently denying any involvement and reiterated that he had reported the piracy of his Facebook account to the Commissioners on Saturday, June 24, 2017 ". Stéphane de Chalain's quickest inquiry concludes that "after examination, the commissioner delegates decided not to go any further."
"No case to answer"
The Englishman will tell you that this investigation came to a "no case to answer" against Muzi Yeni and that, according to the MTC, he was free to leave. The South African jockey - whose contract with Ricky Maingard was terminated on Sunday, June 25 - after obtaining his clearance papers from the MTC, will go to the MRA for successful formalities and then to the GRA. The authority sends it back to the police. But for now, We are not in a position to confirm that the jockey Muzi Yeni actually went to the police. On the other hand, he showed up on Wednesday at the airport to fly to South Africa. However, the immigration police detained him and the jockey spent a long day at the Central Barracks on Thursday.
Upstream, on Wednesday, June 28, photographs showing the three jockeys Raymond Danielson, Brandon Lerenza and Yeni Muzi as well as Justin Vermaak with a Mauritian, wearing a cap and sun glasses, began to circulate. This Mauritian is believed to be the denominated Ashleysingh Jankee, a bookmaker known at the Champ de Mars and in some very festive circles.
Once again, the attention of the GRA is drawn and, on Thursday 29, When the racing program was published, with the names of Raymond Danielson and Brandon Lerenza appearing there, the GRA requested illico presto to the MTC to comply with section 53 of the Rules of Racing and to withdraw these two jockeys from the program of the day Yesterday for "improper manner".
Fashion Consultant for Fashion TV
In the wake, the two jockeys are summoned before the race commissioners, and an investigation is conducted by the same Stéphane de Chalain around 3 pm on Thursday. Faced with the facts, the two jockeys acknowledge that, on Wednesday, June 21, they participated in the Catamaran Party and were invited by a certain "Ash / Ashley", according to them, who presented himself to those as " A Fashion Consultant for Fashion TV ". They add that they did not know Ash was a bookmaker licensed to the MTC.
The jockeys are therefore suspended for three months according to the directive K of Expatriate Jockey's License, which prohibits a whip from having connections with a bookmaker. The jockey Muzi Yeni was also summoned to the Commissioner on Friday, but he was not able to go because of his summons to the Police of the Games.
It remains to be seen why Ashleysingh Jankee's license has not been suspended to date, although Brandon Lerena and Raymond Danielson have formally identified it. According to our information, the suspension of his bookmaker license depends exclusively on a decision of the board of the GRA. Even informed of the situation, the members of this board, unanimously, had not pronounced on this case yesterday morning. Moreover, it seems that this file is blocked at the level of the Police of the Games, which has not yet identified Ashleysingh Jankee on the photos that still circulate on the web.
However, our source tells us that this feast on the catamaran had been prepared since the day of Saturday June 17 by the pair Danielson-Jankee. A very tied pair, said to the Champ de Mars. Our source tells us that some horses, which were sold at Rs 230 or Rs 220 at the majority of bookmakers, were sold at Rs 280 at bookkeeper Jankee. Go find out why. It would also be appropriate to question why a Mauritian whip started to show signs of nervousness since this case broke out. Moreover, it could also be that the CCID is seized of this file in place of the Police of the Games.
PORTRAIT
Ashley Jankee, much more than a bookmaker ...
It is often said in some circus horses that it is "enn zanti boug", always ready to make friends and even to renew the ties with his enemies. Ashleysingh Jankee, or Ashley, or even Ash, is much more than a bookmaker. This man could not be traced since Thursday by the Police of the Games, even if his book was opened Friday for a operation "kite".
"A lot of blondes"
On his Facebook page, he presents himself as Ashley Sing Jankee, lives in Sydney (but is native of Vacoas), and is director of FashionTV Mauritius, a local branch of the famous Fashion TV (told on the net That this company is in difficulty in many countries due to disputes over transmission rights). In the middle of events in Mauritius, Ash is known as a fashion show organizer. Our sources tell us that Ashleysingh Jankee is organizing a "Sparkles at Club Med by Fashion TV" in Albion on July 8th.
These evenings, which are mostly set up by other people, are an opportunity for Ash to parade his models. "Many beautiful women. Especially blondes, real blondes, I tell you, no discolouration. Pure blondes who speak Russian, "entrusts to Week-End a regularity of the evenings of Ash. The latter is, in the middle, also known for having "padlocked" pockets. "I would not say he's a bad payer, but he's taking his time. A lot of time, "they say.
Because of precarious finances, Ashleysingh Jankee nearly lost his bookmaker's license to the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) in 2010. He had a slate of some Rs 400,000, and his license to go jumping was that arrangement found with the club. "He paid his debt two or three times," the MTC told us. But rehearsed in 2016, when this time, Ashleysingh Jankee had debts to the MRA and MTC. "There was a lot of delay, especially on VAT," says one source.
In the meantime, his operating license had not been renewed, as the GRA board rejected his request. Indeed, for a bookmaker's license to be renewed, the GRA requires the clearance of three bodies, the police, the MRA and the MTC. In the case of Ashleysingh Jankee, there were none in 2016. But it is not a bookmaker like all the others and has its entrances where it is necessary ... And especially with the people well placed.
Thus, after a second refusal - despite the intervention of an important adviser in the Prime Minister's office, who could not do anything because clearances were still missing - the GRA had to reverse its decision. For good reason: overnight, the clearances of the MRA and the MTC would have fallen at the same time, one fine morning, on the fax of the GRA. As a divine intervention, Ashleysingh Jankee again got his bookmaker's license.
However, languages began to loosen. It is described in the middle of the bookmakers that Ashleysingh Jankee is only a man of straw in this story. For, in fact, The bookmaker's license would belong to the son of an advisor to the Prime Minister's Office, who intervened with the GRA to force the reluctant hand. Even Dev Beekharry, despite all his power, saw only fire ...
