7 years 9 months agothats incredible i really admire your great knowledge of the game as i just punt on reoccuring numbers and pedigrees that go back 6 generationsAdams wrote: No -- Was just checking the MR printed in the CF.
I do have my own rating method though -ranking all 5500 some horses actively running, along with standard time chart for each course and distance - median winning time. That along with the top two Merit Rated horses in any race are usually a good starting point for handicapping.

Here is the ratings for the next race:
HORSE NATIONAL LOG RANKING
PERFECT JAY 214
STORM KITTEN 469
PUTCHINI 721
DEEP DOWN REBEL 1278
TOUCH OF MAGIC 1298
I rather see perfect jay dropping on the table than going higher than this. Bringing Storm Kitten into the Picture - she has to beat Deep Down Rebel and Touch Of Magic.
One that I give a shout to is Master Sam, simply on the strength of being the surviving member of a stable scratching - it's companion Fury being scratched earlier - and you could throw Roy's Zaire into the mix as well.
Touch Of Magic got a stiff ask to get past Deep down rebel, --- it's possible. And for some reason Storm Kitten looks to finish in front of deep Down rebel as well.

Of course the ratings are just a piece of the puzzle, I stopped assessing after the 4th race, since it looked messy.

Ratings for the next race show how competitive this race is, and only a gambler would be investing here.
The best of the bunch is Panza, narrowly from Dark Moon Rising, Real Vision next and Wynkelder next -- but way too competitive to gamble in.
PANZA (155)
HIGHWAY EXPLORER (AUS) (310)
ARIANOS BAGOFGOLD (327)
REAL VISION (337)
DARK MOON RISING (418)
ROY’S MARCIANO (446)
GREAT VALUE (697)
PRIME SUSPECT (869)
WYNKELDER (1316)
Wynkelder is profiled as the most likely improver - but the race too competitive to call. Ordinarily, I would back Panza eye's closed - but the stable really is not being successful, and if not mistaken that would be the first winner, so how does one back that.

I think Mark Dixon's runner has found some early speed and could hold on for a cheque
