This was my shortlist:

ELEGANT GENERAL (221)
ALL TRUE MAN (777)
SUCCESFILLY (794)
BURRA BOY (938)

LAVENDER BANK, FLIGHT MODE, CLASS ACT and MISS MILLIONAIRE i didn't know what to make of --- so I must say that ELEGANT GENERAL looks real value, along with MISS MILLIONAIRE

There was a lot of potential value on the card, but one needs to know when to be in and when to be out of the market.....just as important as backing the right horse :)

ZEN ARCADE hit the highest maiden winning time on my standard chart, of all winning maidens in the past 4-5 months -- not bad!

I suppose it was a bit ludicrous to imagine that a horse with R200,000 earnings from one race would stay in the maiden ranks. This just highlights the excesses of gambling -- trying to deny the credentials of a horse just because it is at short odds.

Either the track was running very fast today or we have seen some top class runners on track today.

I figured that whatever beat unbelievable lad would have to turn in a top time --- and zen arcade did that by about 3 lengths more than was needed -- We saw one winner coming out of the Bad Attitude race today, and that one had finished six lengths behind bad attitude, cool water was the other - contested a bit then fell away. All together I think we are in for a cracker jack season!

Louis Goosen could have been a big help to us. His stable is firing in KZN

Does he not post here anymore?

In a perfect world , the trainers would be able to let the public know if they actually trying or setting it up for a race in 3 weeks time but that is just a pipedream I guess :(

Yes, no and maybe...
firstly...it may be his intention...but in the long run...he has a committment to his owner...the horse may just come on sooner...Joe Blogs is trying at the same time...it's not quite the right distance...blah...blah...blah...it comes off the float poorly...
and then...we still give it to him...
