Deeno, what one needs know if the present trainer has share's in these horses.
If so, it will be impossible to move these horses to another stable..... trainer will NOT relinquish his shares, that's for sure.

Great level-headed advice from Tigershark .....
Just maybe some insight on cost vs return ..... if one looks at the stats for the previous season, the 'top' (local) sire (Average Earnings per Runner) was Captain Al - averaging around 130k per runner for the season ... if one extrapolates that to 3 seasons (hopefully the 'average runner' can race for 3 seasons) this comes to around R400k; 'extremely reasonable' training costs would come to around 100k a year - so around 300kfor 3 years - which would mean that (even excluding vet costs), one would need to buy a Captain Al below 100k to make a profit - very unlikely  Of course one could argue that one would buy a 'better than average' horse (taking into account breeding, conformation, advice from the man in the moon, etc) - but this just mean that you would probably have to fork out at least double for the 'better than average' horse ....
Imo, the above shows that stakes as they are, are not nearly enough to entice owners to buy into this game .... therefore the 'gambling pool' (tote) needs to be increased and at the moment this looks like a pipe dream

Agree
I regard Muhti as the fundi
I will seek his advise if I ever get back into racing.
I have a Visionaire filly that I will seek advise on shortly.
Most Visionaire that I know prefer ground ...the one that I have my eyes on... I think will be sprinter..... 1000m to 1200m.... if it can go over 1400 i will be thrilled.
Will PM you Muhti

mydada, what do you think the R.A. could do ? I'll tell you ..... there's absolutely nothing they can do. ( in their defence ) some horses take 3 - 6 months to be ready to run.... others 10-18 months, sometimes they NEVER RUN. I've had one of those - never made it to the track at all, retired injured !

Re: Calling Owners
7 years 11 months ago.....for starters the genome that indicates speed or stamina is most likely to be found in the female side of the family and it is referred to as the mitochondrial trail....I love peeling peds of the Visionare's matings as for me they are far easier to access....and more recently have been having some successful strikes on his progeny.....Deeno wrote:Tigershark wrote: Muhti you are supposed to keep that under your hat.......
