Thanks for all the input, comments & suggestions.
Just to sumnarise, I have plenty of face to face meetings with my trainer and frequent visits to stable and tracks during work rides.
I hardly punt... If I do, it's 1 bet for the day (either single or double win or place bet) so not in for the info.
I bite on the bit and hope things work out. The "other" partners contact info is not disclosed by the trainer even if requested.
I've tried to sell and had some ridiculous offers so not going that route any longer
Will wait patiently for "MY DAY" to come...
The day I get my first winner I celebrate like never before... Will book a private box at Turffontein... All drinks on me
Who's coming for the party?? :silly:

That is bullshit.
You have the right to know who you else has shares in the horse which is JOINTLY owned.
100% Deeno. ..when the horse is registered all owners must sign the nhra registration form which is supplied by the trainer. ...the trainer also has to sign this form
Not sure why 20 to 1 is not supplied this pertinent information.....

Re: Calling Owners
7 years 11 months agoHe needs to call the NHRA if the trainer won't help - What if I have had terrible dealings with a person and would never contract with that person only to find that my trainer has sold a share in my horse to that person - I have a right to know who I'm in business with - If I were 20-1 I would get out of that stable asap - seems they like to keep certain things too close to their chest - I would also advise NOT to buy into a horse where the trainer or his family hold shares - I wonder if these horses are stabled at Turffontein?Neven777 wrote:Deeno wrote:20 to 1 wrote: Wow!!

.....the situation is no fault of the trainer and other partners ....20/1 is in illustrious company ....the other partners are pretty much in the same boat and even if they have deeper pockets they too may wish to be out but have a bigger spread in the stable and have others that are earning .... ...however as the late Roy Unsworth would quip.....softly softly.....as they have dived in and bitten off more than they can chew....unfortunately 20/1 has also put his balls on the line hoping to fall into another Pierre Jourdan......and hunting at the 10 times champion breeders RTR has become a longer shot of finding those champion gems of yester year.....

I became an owner to have some fun and enjoy the game at the same time.
How can I?
I purchased total of 190% shares spread thin across a few horses since January this year (all purchased at 2016 ready-to-run sales and some even earlier)
To date, I have only seen 2 of them run. (3 races in total)
Is this normal and is this the "Lows" and pain a new owner has to go through before getting any enjoyment out of the sport?
Not forgetting that this 190% of shares equates to over R20k a month in stables fees for the keep of the horses.
All I get told as an owner is that the horses are doing well and will run "soon".
Mind you, I definitely believe that the horses are doing well because I've seen them getting worked and have huge potential but FFS "soon" since April???
Please help me to help myself.
I really want this to be an enjoyable experience OR have I just chosen the wrong stable???
20/1...Have things improved at all?

Feel like I've been horribly scammed
Anyone want to know which trainer to never get involved with...just pm me
I'm not giving up that easily. Trying it again coz I love the game. He can have my money that he did me in for.
Wouldn't get him very far...
Useless bunch as far as I'm concerned

20/1 something doesn't sound kosher about this whole story
The trainer not wanting to divulge the partnership in the horse
you not wanting to name the trainer
Is it all pork pies?

If there's one thing I've learnt from all my experiences.... It's never to argue with idiots!!
Again, for those that have helped me with the good advise and suggestions, THANK YOU!!
To those with the sarcastic humour... Good luck growing up. One day you'll get there, I'm sure.
Hang in there...
