and Top Shot almost over the rail - I remember a similar one a year or so ago where a horse cause interference to a few and it was disqualified[/quote]

Which ever way I would have loved to be a fly on the wall wherever Bloomberg was , as he owns Kilrain , something tells me there is a letter on its way to the NHA :) ;)

Point of reference is always a crucial factor when comparing Bayern...do you reference against the good or the bad. Sheldon is a decent commentator, with one or two very unprofessional tendencies, which can be easily rectified if some one brings i to his attention.

Lionel, referring to Sheldon, i don't know the man, i only know him by association, seen him on tv and listen to his commentaries - that out the way. Whatever we call it, unprofessional tendencies or embellishments, each to his own, including Sheldon. He may feel he is adding to the racing experience with that rhetoric style of commentating. What i will say, which i brought up on the thread in question, for those who know him, have you addressed this with him? Again i say, i don't think he will get upset, but then again, i don't know the guy, but it's worth a try. I'm not biased towards any commentator, i listen to all the South African guys, no problems.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

My opinion on Broadway Trip.......very rank today after a rest, keen to post, not settling in the race, was really unbalanced in behind.......

This may be the best Trippi we have seen imo.

He has a lot to learn but he is a real race horse this boy!

bayern wrote: R6, Flying Free will go close here. His last two runs have been most encouraging. On July Day was severely cramped 500m out and once getting the opening kept switching in for a clear passage. Finished well under the circumstances.

Last time out conceded 8.5kgs to the winner and was just pipped on the post after looking a winner. Appears to run well on the inside track, will strip fitter and should give account of himself. See he opened 11/2 and is now trading at 9/2 (H/W), not sure whether that was as a result of support or just an adjustment.

There is another runner on the card i fancy, but i'm waiting to see if it drifts, in which case i'll post before the race, if it shortens, i'll post immediately.

Mighty stiff there Bayern.....very tough to go down like that

Good call all those on Broadway Trip, dug deep and deservedly won.

So happy for Alec Laird. Broadway Trip is his most well deserved future champion. Could not have happened to a nicer guy.

That is a really pleasing result, at last a real race on his CV (Broadway Trip), and now demands respect.

Race 7: Once again many rested. Let It Flow would be the benchmark to beat if fit. One would not know how good Varsity Girl, and Raven Girl might be. Silver Thursday, Just My Style, Only to Win could all be in contention if some of the runners are found in need of the run.
