The problem with only being allowed to mention one or two horses in a race is that it creates the impression that a race is more closed than it is. This exaggerates the chances of the mentioned runners into a good bet shen its actually a wide open race

All of the professional punters i know of battle to find one or two plays a day...s ince 90 percent of races are too open to call.

The quickest way to the poor house is basing your strategy on the principle that there is a clear cut winner in every race.

While putting out a selection for every race may be very popular despite a strike rate lower than if one was to just back the favourite. I prefer to highlight the fact that most races are so open that they do not lend themselves to wagering.

I believe in very selective betting, and keep a tight reign on my percentage strike rate. If you have patience and regulate the odds you take, all you really need to make a profit racing is a 20% strike rate.

Just called some brothers in durban
They will be surprised if the meeting goes ahead with this downpour of blessings
Horses will require flippers to run in the weather
