Race 1: Hard to oppose Frank Lloyd Wright but very short price and some nice unraced.
Race 2: Wealthsmith and Boy Scout have some form but the first timers don’t have to be too good to win here. Sherwood Forest has been priced up favourite but a tough ask for a 2yo at this time of year.
Race 3: Flower of Carmel is a struggling maiden but gets a soft chance to shed her maiden. Capaill is in a similar boat and gets the 4kg claim. Dreams of love disappointed on debut but could improve down the straight.
Race 4: An open maiden and quite a few with chances. Mind Blowing and Jailhouse Rock look to have the most scope for improvement.
Race 5: Brett Crawford has a strong hand here, and of his three, Neria improved nicely last time and is my pick here over Magic Mary, but again quite a few with chances.
Race 6: An open race. Hemero won nicely last time and looks very good ew value at 16/1
Race 7: Sun at Midnight ran a poor race at Durbanville last time. This may be a bit short for her but she has a place chance. A tricky handicap.
Race 8: Another open race.
Race 9: Red Rascal will enjoy the step up in trip and was given a soft rating for his first win. I have a personal bias, as I bred his dam , Gold and Roses, but I think he should follow up here.

MR CRUMFORD best place bet
CAPAILL
MIND BLOWING
MAGIC MARY
CAPTAIN'S FLAME if you find 5-1 - respect TOO PHAT TO FLY
STRAAT-KIND
RED RASCAL - i think he's better than a 75 - first run after maiden is a worry but won debut like a horse that will go through the divisions - Best Bet

Must say, thought Sherwood Forest entry in the 2nd is an interesting one considering R1 is a Juvenile race. Either Marshall doesn't believe he can beat Frank Lloyd Wright in the first carrying level weights, or his charge can win in open company, he's that good. Whilst i appreciate what PeterD has said about being a tough ask for a two year at this time of year, just a strange decision to enter the juvenile considering the purse is the same as the first race. Guess the race will tell.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I think that Mr Cheyne should give ABC a big thank you. He obviously reads our past criticisms of his riding & has decided to get serious. He has been riding well lately & booting the winners home. Well deserved & long may it last.
Well done Mr H as usual, I didnt back your winner but took places on Domeyer.
