Incestuous relationships cost racing

Yesterdays debacle at Turffontein could have been avoided if racing was run professionally. Despite being warned about the EFF targeting Turffontein on Saturday, the big shots all went to the July. There are stories about punters being turned away, horses being offloaded in the street, and general chaos.

Now I ask this question. The security is supplied by a company where Mr Heide has a material interest in. Should a proper security company have been in charge, I doubt that this would have occured, My money would have been on Recall security sorting these thugs out pronto. Albert Boshoff would have sorted these fools out himself.

Would Mr anonymous care to comment on any of the other points?

- Phumelela were warned about this action in the week and ignored it
- There were no senior Phumelela employees on course
- Sw security who replaced Recall are owned by Andreas Heide

As per usual, none of the allegations (apart from the horses being unloaded in the street) have been answered directly - makes one wonder.

I was there - all the gates were closed - lots of cars queuing everywhere - nobody seemed to know what was going on - just a lot of gesturing and so forth .... so I have to wonder where the trucks with horses would have gone (I didn't see any)

Still I would think some sort of explanation from the Powers that Be is needed

Like Frodo I was there..a gang of men were jogging down the road from Turffontein with clubs and other sticks, chanting..then across robots got to entrance to box parking big crowd chanting huge EFF banner, did not want to video from inside Uber as they were not happy at all..went around to side gate luckily getting through the crowd and there was a horse carriage parked at the side gate ..note all gates were locked..no driver in truck horses in back..big crowd there also chanting..there was a police van lights flashing next to horse truck we asked driver of uber turn around take us home.

An absolute disgrace to horse racing in SA. No security nothing!!

I attended yesterday's meeting .I arrived at the main gate at 11:00 am, saw all the E F F flags and weapons,did a U turn and went to Marble Arch gate.They let a few cars in before closing the gates.No trouble makers were there at that stage. I spent the afternoon in the Elevation Room .It was not even a third full.There were no tote facilities. Went downstairs and found the tote open in Kelvin's. Managed to get some bets on.Then all totes closed and Betting World and World Sports Betting closed shop.By 1pm there was nothing. No announcements nothing .Local racing delayed and no horses in the front parade ring,again no announcements.Why punish to few people on course when things get behind time.It happens almost every week that we cannot see the horses,have to punt blindly. As already said no one from Phumelela or the R A were on course All on FREE BEES in Durban.I think the highest ranked person on course was the commentator !! Did I go back today ? No ways .Will i go back next week ? you can forget it. When will they get it into their heads that Sunday r

what is sad is that this week end we had all these otehr sports that the july was competing against for screen time.

Soccer tennis F1GP Cycling and i must say the July was not my top pick.

i crossed to DSTV Coverage for all of 30 seconds . Delpech looked dazed and confused at the questions Darren Scott was asking him.

There were a few heavy brawls at July hope nobody hurt, mostly fists and boots with security trying to seperate them
