Country House Wins Kentucky Derby After Maximum Security Is Disqualified
For the first time in the history of the race, the horse who crossed the finish line first was disqualified for interference and stripped of his title.

And we think we get some dodgy calls by our stipes , to disqualify that horse seems very harsh

trainer has indicated he intends on lodging an appeal, first with the stewards and all the way to the state commission and even up the legal route. Hard luck on Luis Saez who rode superbly, and on the animal who was a class apart.

He made the rider on Country House race an extra 10 yards by running across him on the turn thus the stewards were 100% in their decision

The Country House objection was overruled. The Long Range Toddy objection was upheld which finished 16th.

Saw the replay couple of times now. Maximum Security was unlucky to loose the race on an objection. The horse that lodged the objection finished 16th. The horse that initially got impeded War of Will, never lodged an objection at all.

The owners of Maximum Security might appeal the decision, they are assessing their options. Maximum Security was a claiming horse.

It's like when Simple Verse won the St Leger but lost it on an objection but won it on appeal couple of weeks later.
