I have been sent a whatsapp video showing a crowd of grooms near the finishing line and directly in front of marquees. There appears to be a contingent of riot police who approach and then a stun grenade/tear grenade is let off followed by what sounds like a volley of shots I'm presuming are rubber bullets. The grooms disperse rapidly down the track towards the start.

Please God someone is at every stable to ensure that no horses are harmed. Not a great advert for our racing I'm afraid.

Racing delayed, strike by the grooms. What a fkn disgrace, all dressed up and nowhere to go.
