I have just had a long chat with someone in the know. This nonsense started early this morning when a group of around 60 grooms started intimidating their colleagues. Led by Simoto and a guy called Victor they were agitating to cancel todays meeting and called for a meeting with Vee Moodley, Larry Wainstein and John Stuart. Their demands were R14000 a month and 5% of the stakes.

And the Chairman a man who many held in high esteem thinks that part of the problem is that the punters are thieves!!! My day is stuffed we arrived in a party mood for this so called special day and we have now just left. Enough is enough I will enjoy the drive to a bookmakers lounge in the west and enjoy that facility while I steal some of Phums money. Like Garrick and a few others after a lifetime in this game I'm f...ing tired of all this crap.

Absolute disgrace , there is no real intent from the groom's to come to any proper and logical agreement , as is the case in most things now in SA , the first course of action is always either violent of civil dis obedience , surely the authorities saw this coming and could have done something to prevent this , ineptitude from the top as per usual . A once proud and tremendous industry being dragged along and being kept alive via life support machines . So sad.

This is an embarrassment on such a big day. Did Phum not know that this was going to happen!!!
Maybe the execs are too busy flying around the world on SAA (when they in the air!!) to notice what is happening locally...the gravy plane ??

Now what's the the reason for a further delay?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
