the stats mean nothing to me here at the tip of africa.
of the 3.3 million cases. africa has reported 40000 cases. just over 1% of all cases.
of the 235000 dead africa has reported 1640 deaths. less than 1 % of all deaths.
Southern Africa has reported 145 deaths.
when history reviews this virus. it will not be remembered for the deaths, maybe for the social changes it forced on the world but primarily how weak government officials over reacted fuelled by a frenzied mass media. and the devastating effect it had on the economies of the world.
our government has got this horribly wrong.
