With respect Muhti I don't think these posts have anything to do with fireworks and I expect they will result in sone fireworks in the form of posts. Having said that I do believe fireworks should be totally banned ... but good luck with that ever happening. As for thr above posts they cannot be condoned.

Dam. What does race have to do with
Fireworks? Should be confined to the
Racecourse.
Ahem. Would he make the same derogatory comments about the pound and dollar flush tourists who come out to Sunny SA and book out the best restaurants on New Year's Eve to excitedly view the Fireworks Display at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town each year?

I celebrate Diwali. I don't do fireworks though as I live for my pets and other furry friends around us. I do lamps and other forms of light but still we have a wonderful time. Just my choice...
My issue is that for Guyfawkes and New Years Eve, this level of "intolerance" seems to disappear. I have to lock my pets indoors and play music for them while the neighborhood goes crazy with Fireworks and big bangs. I also live 2km away from a cricket ground that celebrates with BIG BANGS and massive fire works at the end of a match. However, this too doesn't seem to bother anyone.
There needs to be consistency - I agree, ban fireworks completely!
As for these shocking posts, it has no place in our society!

.....just reading between the lines.....dont think that Frank means to have a go at Indians....he hates fireworks due to the affect they have on animals in particular horses and dogs ....but many (of us) confuse Indians with Hindi .....and the big bangs.....I cannot be seen really as the "us" as I married an Indian who is not Hindi.....but many of our friends are....I still do not get why one would have to try make the biggest bangs when Diwali is supposed to a festival of light and wishing prosperity and not f@cking noise.....I had to drug my poor pooch in order to survive the war zone..... ....wonder how the horses coped that live in the equestrian estate next door....

I do not know Frank personally but he always has time to chat when I have bumped into him at races and at malls. Seems a good guy. I think he must have been y=taken out of context!

As a South African of Indian origin, I find the post both offensive and racially abusive. I myself have two dogs. My kids, wife and I are against the use of fireworks in any form due to the impact it has on our pets. We take all available precaution to ensure their safety and well being during Diwali, Guy Fawkes and New Years eve.
It is interesting that George Croucher has taken the post of his FB page. His post is nothing but a racial attack aimed at the Indian community at large. The responses by both Frank and a certain Royden Barendse further displays the problem we have in South Africa at large....racism.
What's equally problematic is the response by Royden Barendse shows that he is clearly anti Hindu as well.
Personally, I shall be giving these posts as much exposure as I possible can so these racially prejudiced folk can be brought to book.

Absolutely taken completely out of context as Franks apology/explanation confirms, his comments on the Guy Fawkes thread were exactly the same, his anger is aimed at abuse of animals and although in could be misconstrued as a racist remark only people who dont know Frank would believe that he would be capable of harboring those thoughts let alone blast them out on a public forum, sad spin off to this is that some so called "Fellow Trainers" took the opportunity to further exasperate the situation by forwarding the whatsap pics that are doing the rounds, sad because these are people that know Frank and have for years and should/do know better...
Give everything but up!
