Durbanville Race 1.....Will The Stars Align

Barrier draws matching saddle cloth numbers was officially introduced in December 2019 if memory serves me right. The first race run then was won by number 8 Chelsea River ridden by Warren Kennedy and trained by Andre Nel.
So tomorrow at Durbanville in Race 1...number 8 is a horse trained by the same Andre Nel... and it could emerge victorious. This time number 8 is Majestic Queen.

Somewhat ironic you bring up Race 1, i need to show you all this :-

Ticket Number: 63081 Date Taken: 05-09-2022 14:00:27
Bet Type: Single Bet Status: 0
Stake: R Payout: R
Ticket Details
Sport: Horse Racing
Result Date: 07-09-2022 12:50:00
Tourn / Event: Durbanville Race 1
Type; Win
Market: MAJESTIC QUEEN #
Odds: 40/1 Active

I was oblivious of the facts you brought up regards barriers matching draws, go and see what this horse is trading at now, not that it's my money that moved it.

@ The Duke....

Eish Durbanville aka infamously known as " Robbery Park", was a specialist country track back in the day racing only a few days in a year.
Twilight meetings on a weekday was all it got.
Had a hedge running along the rail in the home straight.
Computaform used to comment... " has won at Dbville" because of the tight nature of the track which heavily favoured front runners with handy draws.
Now that you mention the stars aligning, I was thinking about the stars and stripes and will advise you include the numbers 9 and 11 in all bets especially in sprint races this month.
Remember Twin Towers and 9/11?
Doubt Durbanville will suit those high draws though.

Durbanville will always be remembered when Empress Club returned after a layoff beating Grade 1 winners Marie Galante and Taban over 1000m. She broke the course record which still stands. It went off around 4/1..

.....Durbanville track in past years had problems which have since been addressed in that the surface was said to have been too hard and corrugated any many old time trainers and a few newer one's refused to race their better horses there... for this reason as Bob indicated on the other thread about acceptances being slow/low for the following meeting....a bit of a wait and see what happens tomorrow.....

.....the draw here is critical as the bend before the straight run in is sharp and unforgiving and normally favors handy horses drawn on the paint.....however in heavier going the inside rail is unfavorable and then horses drawn outside have better chances tacking out onto the outside running rail.....;)

Race 4, Aussenkehr, from the draw looks the one they all have to beat. Good improvement since being gelded and returning from a 6 month break, should strip much fitter today.
