World Sports Betting MET DAY - Saturday 27 January 2024

Morning guys.

I am uploading my software ratings for all 11 races, 'out of the box'. Some races look clear from a ratings' perspective, others are as clear as mud with many aggregated on the same ratings. That said, there seems to be some value on offer in some races and I will be doing EWs on those and SWGs and EXAs with the top rated.

The main ratings to keep an eye on are VALUES TOTAL and VALUE ODDS (the latter is the software's odds line). POWER TOTAL values are based on 'conventional' racing wisdom and may reflect who the public will favor. Keep an eye on the PROJECTED TIME RANK (esp. over shorter) - I have found often those throw up some value.

They say horses can't read and often make nonsense of the odds or any ranking system but that does not mean we shouldn't apply our minds to this great game of ours. I am allowed a maximum of 8 attachments so will upload the remaining races in another post.

Further to my previous post, the last three races:

Can't see past the favourite in the MET.
For an interest I would have had W/P on Tarry's runner but it is now a N/R
All the wealthy lady owners seem to win on  these big days my fancy at Kenilworth today is
R 3 GREEN WITH ENVY..

Race 1: 9 Un Bel Di
Race 8: 7 Infrared
Race 10: One Way Traffic

Big day has arrived - thoughts ...

R1: Juveniles - so upset always possible, but unless one of the first-timers can spring a surprise, the obvious 2 are Lion Rampart and Roman Agent; of the 2 I prefer Roman Agent - simply because Lion Rampart seems difficult to keep straight; my first choice would be the filly Sweetie Darling - did beat LR (debut run, so should have improved) on identical weight terms and for juveniles the 2,5 kg advantage the fillies get is often enough - and the odds of 8/1 is certainly tempting imo; Un Bel Di is improving with racing and although beaten by RA last time, was running on well and must have a place chance here at 25/1

R2: Juveniles again - but this looks a 2-horse contest between Handsome Prince and Talk to the Master and the outcome will probably indicate where the better draws are for the rest of the meeting down the straight; the fillies also gets the 2,5 kg advantage, but both Sorceress Supreme and Duchess of Paloma seems held by the colts on their debuts; danger could be Master Casper - Lerena takes the ride and should improve on his debut, while the debutantes (especially Sicily) could bely their starting prices

R3:  Green With Envy does stand out on ratings and should have no problem with the trip; the filly Fatal Gem could be a bit of a dark horse as she is well weighted here; King Pelles is trying blinkers and does get 4,5 kgs from the favorite, so could challenge, but if Green with Envy does not win, there are many others to consider imo

R4: At My Command best in, but has not won for 501 days and may prefer more ground, so I think Quasiforsure will have his measure; not too much on form between Silver Operator, Underworld and Captain Fontane - so all of those need inclusion imo; Pomodoro's Jet is improving and has found market support, but I think has more to do here even with 51.5 kgs

R5: I think this is difficult to predict; don't think Winter Cloud is any value at current odds - might well win, but could be better over 1400 now (1/2 sister to Clouds Unfold) - problem is imo there is no obvious standout to oppose her; so either bank her or take the field - I am taking the 2nd option

R6: Probably a match race between Isivunguvungu and Thunderstruck, while Dyce has won impressively in Gauteng, so could challenge; the rest seem held, especially over 1000

R7: Majorca - where I believe the Princess will have her revenge - her last effort I think was below par as the likes of Happy Chance and Saartjie would have a chance here if one takes that form at face value; Red Palace is said to be very capable and should use her stride here, but I think Princess Calla will run her down, with Beach Bomb in 3rd; Make It Snappy finding support in the market, but I think she would be hard pressed to match these after a break of almost a year.

R8: Bavarian Beauty is rumoured to be very good and has a Group 1 victory over 1600 beating the very capable Egyptian Mau; she does get a fillies allowance from Tail of the Comet, who is yet to prove that he gets the trip - but he tries a compression mask and a tongue-tie, which could be what the doctor ordered; the others seem to have their work out; Infrared is finding market support and does get the trip, but It think he has something to find here - like the rest of the field

R9: I see Mucho Dinero has been taken out, but I would not have given him much chance anyway; obviously See It Again is the right horse and only an accident could deny him victory here; Rascallion has had a good prep and tries blinkers, but I think 2nd is the best he can hope for    

R10: Despite what the history of this race shows (many upsets over the years), I think this is a two-horse race, and I think Nebraas at the odds is good value to beat Aragosta

R11: Where is my pin - strong Maiden where plenty have chances - I think at this stage (effect of the draw a question mark) Hoodia has as good a chance as most and 8/1 seems fair value
