Barry,
It makes no sense to tip horses in a public forum if one is actually capable of showing a profit from labelling one's horses,be that as a trainer or owner.
My question to you would then be,'are there trainers or owners consistently capable of labelling their horses to show are a profit?'
I no longer own horses, but when I did the only time I made money on them was when I labelled them myself.

This to me is once again a case of double standards ..when the appy Coetzee said in an interview that he choose not to tip to the public there was an uproar...a few weeks down the line it would seem that Barry and others are in total agreeance with what was said..the mind boggles

I hear where you are coming from Cat,but to go back to the days of the "priviledged few" would be a step in the wrong direction...whoever stole your price inadvertantly did you a turn..

I'll never forget being in Bruma many years ago and seeing a chap "the brother of a top Jock", punting a horse for the following day - the Bookie went white with fear as the wads of cash were slapped down on the desk - within minutes the horse had shortened to 8-10 - being a fool i followed the "tip" - the result the horse had no form and ran accordingly - since that day i've never bothered about "info" except when it comes to first-timers

You absolutely right Cats, you as the owner who invests all his hard earned money in buying the horse, training fee, vets bill etc does not have to give any info to anyone.
All owners have a baised opinion on there horse so I find 'tipping info' from them useless. Anyway as someone said earlier thats what form books are there for to study for yourself.

To me its so easy: Owner, get on and if you're a nice guy, share the "info"; if you're selfish and not nice, then don't.

Say what you want, the trainer gets the best price, followed by the owner.

there is no "standard logic". Some trainers don't punt; some owners punt small (and some very small). But anyway, have a good day punting
