problem is that most of you on this forum are so convinced that every thing in SA is tops, thus the justification to jump on and insult anybody who thinks differently. I let my opinion be known that Marcus is a big fish in a small pond but then the likes of yourself and a few others chose to insult me just because of an honest opinion. I believe that you are a Sharks fan so I had better not say anything negative about them or you will be having another go at me. Life is about opinions, even those self opinionated ones like Barry "look at me I have it all" Irwin, have a right to be heard. Instead of insulting somebody who has a different opinion or outlook to yourself why not next time call them on it and ask that person to justify his comment instead of been vile and disrespectful.

C&C you baited the hook with a one liner and surely you knew that you would get a reaction. I am almost convinced that you enjoy taking a verbal beating from all sides. This is not the first time you have butted heads with people on the site.

You have every right to an opinion. We too have a right to a counter opinion and for me, if the comment has anything to do with SA, especially negative commentary from an ex resident of the country / expat, then I will post my opinion and stand by it. There is nothing vile or disrespectful about that. Expat vs Nob now here is a debate on vile and disrespectful. Let us just leave it at that. C&C you cannot deny that one foot is firmly planted here and you do love this place!

I will accept that you do not rate Anton Marcus. Some do however. This thread is really about his achievements over the past while and especially yesterday. This sideshow is merely detracting from what some of us consider to be a top achievement from a top South African jockey.

It has been an entertaining sometimes comical debate.

If I did not miss SA or its people do you think that I would waste my time on ABC. I support the Proteas and the Springboks in every game that they play and still feel shit whenever they lose. I, like everybody else finds fault with them when they lose. Why you got so upset about Marcus is beyond me. How many times have people openly had a go at him when he has failed on the favourite? 100s.

All good C&C disliking an opinion does not always lead to disliking a person. I always try to separate the two.

I really enjoyed Moore vs Mc Coy a few days ago. I wish we could see more of that from the UK. Forget betting, these types of events show this game for what it is - a sport. Two great sportsmen on great animals and having a full go at getting to the line first.

Who do you rate as the better of the 2 above?

One is a flat jockey and the other is a jumps. Both are equally good at their respective trades. Mc Coy has been champ jumps jockey for 13 years in a row now. Moore is brilliant in" finishing off" races.
