What's the rush to get it over with? For a start the minnows could hardly have played worse than the West Indies did today, and the World Cup comes around once in four years so why not give the guys from the associate member nations a chance to show what they can do? Look what the 2007 World Cup did for Eoin(sp?) Morgan's career.

I mean, if we are going to eliminate teams or players from competitions just because they can't win then we could cut out the first three rounds of the FA Cup, halve the number of countries playing at the soccer World Cup, remove 80% of the starting grid for every car and motorbike race, etc etc etc, The occasional surprise result which happens in most sports makes it worthwhile.
