Talking about Formula One (Which I find an absolute bore) I see they want to introduce sprinkler systems to make the tracks wet ... wtf::o

That's a one one to me, Greg, though I admit I don't follow Formula 1 like I used to. I watch the odd race from start to finish, usually one of those that takes place in the evening SA time (i.e. after racing has finished), but I do enjoy the Monaco Grand Prix and to an extent the Belgian race, too. Parts of that Spa track are awesome.

Problem in the Caribbean nowadays where cricket is concerned is that the kids dont play as much as they used to. I remember when you had to beg to get a game on the beach back in the days when the Windies were top dogs. Now they all just want to play football and basketball as the EPL and the American Basketball is shown constantly on TV. When Lara, Welsh and Ambrose retired that was it. They are going to need a new hero to follow but at this rate the only hero the West Indies have are the track runners and the bobsleigh team.

Well, I suppose it's understandable that young people in the Caribbean are going to be much more interested in following the fortunes of Usain Bolt and a whole slew of other world class athletes, rather than a cricket team which is sliding right off the radar. The much vaunted Sanford(sp?) 20/20 series in the West Indies ground to a halt before it had a chance to revive interest local interest in cricket, and the sponsor's "problems" didn't do much to help the sport's image I guess.

It is a pity. They were a phenomenal team in their heyday, a team that SA never got the chance to play against, and a SA v strong WI series would be something to watch. At this rate, it won't be happening in our childrens' lifetimes.

chicken and magic if you happen to read michael holdings book called no holding back he dedicates a chapter to the current state of windies cricket and clearly states that the excuse given that the youngsters are more interested in soccer and basketball etc as in his own words absolute bullshit.... he cites plenty other reasons for its demise..its a great read and aptly named

A match race between J J The Jet Plane and the slowest horse at Ngong would be more competitive.:D

Hungry Lion? Zippy Zebra? Blazing Buffalo?

I have no idea.>:D<

That horse Martial Art that raced for a while with Glen Kotzen in Durban and later returned to Kenya was their star a little while back, but I don't know if he's still racing. I do not follow Ngong at all. We don't do books for it, so frankly my dear I don't have to give a damn.

I'm sorry, but Ngong is lower than I want to go. Quite a lot lower. With Zim and Mauritius I have to take a professional interest because we publish Winning Form for those tracks and so I need to try and follow what's going on, but Ngong can pass me by like the Ukrainian Under 15 Weightlifting Championships Pre-Qualifiers.:)
