Quite right Pirates. I think Nagboy should phone any first class cricketer of his choice and ask whcih single SA player should be particularly hanging his head in shame tonight.

How many coaches, and how many players, have we gone through at one World Cup after another, but the result is always the same? When it comes to a knockout game, we get knocked out. It has become more predictable than the rising of the sun.
What I don't know is what the cause is.

They are just not good enough. When the pressure is on they don't perform.
What does concern me is that it is always the senior players who flake out when the pressure is on. This needs to be sorted out. You would imagine that the big players can step up when it is needed. This just does not happen with our team.
Anyway as soon as our grassroots program becomes stronger and we get players through from school level maybe we will have a chance.....wishful thinking I know!

I just think going into a big game when you know your coach and your captain are leaving is ridiculous...what does that do for your willingness to win as a young team

Are the IQ levels not a possibility? They make the same mistakes over and over again. Cruising along with a run rate of less than 5 required a senior player tries to hit a six. The worst thing was that it was not in the least surprising. It was clear for an over or two before that he was losing patience when there was no reason to do so. One felt like climbing into the TV and advising him that it could be done in singles, although Nagboy would say that useless people watching shouldn't be able to see these things. Have we not seen this happen time and time again.

What a disgrace, sat with a bunch of Indian & Oz supporters in Boomerang Pub Roberston Quay Singapore last night and they all boast that SA is the team to beat...and then this team does this sitting between the same buch of people in Harry's Pub the following night....I think they can finally now not deny that they ARE a bunch of chokers.
Absolutely pathetic, no words can describe it. I know someone will not like what I am saying but Faf Du Plessis cost us this match ...and the fact that we change a winning combination in being one batsmen short ...come on it is only 50 overs and we pick 5 specialist bowlers with another 3 part timers...

He's just said on TV that he made it known to the players beforehand that the 20-30 over period would be difficult as the ball is getting softer and they would "need to tough it out" until the 30 over mark when the new ball arrives. Kallis didn't appear to know that he was on in the toughing it out period. Smith can't be blamed for that.
