Blue Im not a stipe and if he believed that he cost the horse the race he would tell me, he has no reason to lie to me

oh please that is being silly - it was obvious for the world to see Titch - honestly we may as well not have rules if there is no consequence for this. Anyway study up on Margaret Court ok - jock to stipe - the horse was green he he - think the jock was very green

Blue I understand that it aggravates those who have backed the horse when it gets beaten like that but there was no show boating at all
@Harris he looked over his shoulder in the hope that he wouldnt have to hit the horse but when he sees he has to then he does pull his stick,the horse hit the front 350 m out and had really had enough,giving a horse a beating does not make them run any faster

Titch you and I have common friend who punted for thirty years, he was also Weichong Mawings agent before he went to Hong Kong, he knew every trainer and jockey and had access to all the inside info !
Even with all these tools this man couldn't get rich and gave up punting after thirty years!
So what was his reason? CORRUPT JOCKEYS
I remember being at a night meeting about ten years ago and Andrew Fortune was riding a horse for Binnie Walker , the horse was favourite, it hit the front and Andrew started to pose for the crowd only to be nabbed on the line by an appie! I remeber when he came back to the parade ring a punter asked him if he was thinking of what jokes to crack for the interview!
@Titch if you want to see what riding out to the line and giving your horse every chance to win/place means then go have a look at Gavin Lerenas ride on Ugly Betty in the 9th ! This boy rode his heart and fought for fourth place only to be denied by a whisker!
And I'm not talking from my pocket cos I don't punt anymore

BC the Andrew that rode for Binnie and the Andrew that rode today are two very different people in those days he was very very bad news the reasons for which are well documented...and those antics will always come back to haunt him as is the case today..btw does our common mate that you are referring to now buy and sell motor cars

@BC
Gavin is a credit to our riding ranks and is top class as his ride today shows....the sad thing is that the ride that Richard Fourie gave the winner in the race being discussed on this thread is being overshadowed and it was sheer class

Sav he started riding the horse out from the 250m mark when she started to hang, if you are refering to when did he go for his stick then the last 50m is correct
