What I've seen in racing is that it doesnt matter which province you ride in, if your a local jock there, you dont get as much rides as the "outsider" jocks that comes from CPT or JHB..

so go live in the shithole ride the work then another visiting jock gets the rides ...plus 3 meetings a month only ..no jocks live there because it aint viable ...

how can it be viable to ride 1000/1 shots in jhb , pay rent in jhb, travel in jhb for 4 rides, and NOT be viable to live in the country, fresh air, no pressure, track knowledge, cheaper way of life

exactly..Why must you work so hard for 1 or 2 rides? Then the others come and they get full cards

and if 5 or 6 of them lived in kimberley then they would get the pick of the rides. and for the 3 meetings a month earn R30k whereas now Mr Yeo rides in 5 meetings a month and earns R35k as an example. Less riding MORE focus, Less risk, More time off

so easy if it is so attractive why doent any jock do it?times have changed since u were involved with racing in this country

they would NOT get 1 or 2 rides.

I have horses with the vissers, if they had a stable jockey he would get 9 rides per meet
the miller would get 9 rides per meet
the other millers would get 9 rides per meet
the lots would get 9 rides per meet
the ruggs would get 9 rides per meet

theses jockeys would also pick up rides from the myburghs/smiths/pienaars etc. so there would be 5 jockeys with complete track and horse knowledge.

please easy miss beckys husband lives and rides in pe word has it he rides plenty plenty work but hardly gets rides the same can be said abt the likes of graham gregorowski and a few others..

how many u got easy?do u think homer is going to use yeo or rather fly musi in every week and the same apples for the other yards in pe and kimberly...

pirates they dont do it because of peer pressure and lakc of lateral thinking.

earnign 100k a month and expenses of 90k is exactly the same as earning R40k a month and expenses of R30k both leave you with R10k.....disposible income.

The reason i am harping on about this i s because a frind of mine working for de beers in London was actually succonded to Kimberley and he has not looked back (nor come back) he says its a different world there, like living in the old days , so for me a jockey like Donavan Yeo (dont know the fella) just lloking at his last 60 rides (formgrids) shows me that in Gauteng he is swimming upstream BIG time, riding no hopers, yet in kim he rides palces etc, for me its a no brainer. MOVE there, take a chill pill , play golf, work less and earn the same.

The stats dont lie,

In Yeo last 1-5 placed rides 11 of them
7 have been in kimberley
4 in gauteng
2 have won In kimberley
no winner in gauteng since funwayo on the 26th of July 2011

Maybe Misss Beckys husband has poorer stats? i dont know.

Riding is about confidence, i like the way he has ridden my horses, if he was riding/living in kimberley i BET you his riding would be even better.
