Kimberley race 9 - What a disgrace

Prominent owner and racing personality backs Maak n Plan in the last race. Prominent manager gets aggravated that his price was stolen and to mislead the entire public goes and claims Jolly Along 4 times so as to make it 16-10 knowing full well that it will be scratched it the morning.

So now a massive deduction will apply and he gets his revenge. Meantime we are all meant to study the card tonight and wonder which one is the right one in the stable.

This is one of the most selfish acts I have seen in my many years in the game. Lets not go blaming any bookmaker for doing this. You can all guess who is responsible and this from a man who comes on TV preaching that the industry needs to be improved.

Maak n Plan will battle to win ...with or without Jolly Along in the race...the horse is a BRASS!!!!!!!!1

I'm sure the stipes will look into it as apparently they look into any unusual betting patterns.

YEAH - RIGHT ! It would be a first if they did.

Ruffian if Jolly Along gets scratched as predicted then what do you suggest they look into?? the last time a jock was warned b4 a race that there was a suggestion of "graft" they were shot down in flames....who will benefit by the horse being claimed ?? only those who have laid whatever wins before any scratchings occur...deflecting blame before the fact is an easy way to stop fingers being pointed at the true source of the problem

harris making a statement that someone would claim a horse 4 times knowing that it will be scratched just to create a deduction makes very little sense unless they have laid a horse....please answer me this 1) was the person who claimed MnP aware that JA was going to be scratched b4 he had his/her bet 2) what will the deduction be off 16/10 as opposed to the % that would have been had the horse been scratched at 5/1

anyone using information that is considered "privileged" to benefit MUST be investigated be it the original bet on MnP in the knowledge that the 2nd fav will not run or the claiming of a horse to create a bigger deduction in the same knowledge..

I agree wholeheartedly. Lets hope they investigate this thoroughly.
