Mister A, Formgrids is a really great site, but it can also pay to listen a bit. It would not be terrible to have some info unique.

Jack you are right,, but who do I listen to,, to Barry saying x or the the rest of the industry saying y,,, or to myself,, I am as competent in the game as any man and I KNOW what Formgrids is about,, Vee Moodly is no mug, he was on the international panel of handicappers and I have a dvd full of his praises,, because HE understands what to look for,,, lots of people think formlines is the form behind a runners name coming into the race,, this is NOT the case,, its the runs that come out of a race,, so Formgrids gets looked at and misunderstood,,,you have to follow Formlines to GET the picture,,, I think Barry does not fully comprehend the way Formgrids works,, not his fault,, Telly Track should have long long ago kept to their word and done the show as was agreed,,,, Formgrids is alive and exciting IF you UNDERSTAND its use,,,,
"Formgrids is the most exciting thing to come out of racing since I've been around, we on it all the time."
Scott Kenny,,,,,,,
"Fast, brilliantly conceived, unique and a must for form studiers. Regularly upgraded with new add-ons and features, this site deserves a technical award."
Leon Setaro

are these guys stupid ????????????//

The problem in communicating with David on this subject is that we are talking about his child and nobody wants to hear anything but praises about one's baby.
But if a father has a daughter that is somewhat attractive and she has a desire to be on TV as a weather girl, but wouldn't be offered the job unless she enhanced her wardrobe, would it make sense for a dad not to help out his child? She is still the same person, she just has more to offer.

Good morning Barry,, I just dont think that race figures of any sort will make the slightest difference to Formgrids,, its not a tipping site,, its used as a homework tool,,, its got nothing to do with my child,, I would like to ask you, if I may, what do you mean when you use the word formline

David, I don't know a serious professional in England or the U. S. that doesn't relay on Timeform abroad or Ragozin Sheets or ThoroGraph Sheets for either their punting or to analyze horses for purchase.
A form line to me is what your product is, showing where horses finished against other horses. It is the OLDEST method of analysis that there is.
I have never used Formgrids when analyzing a horse to buy in South Africa.
But I have used Merit Ratings.

Barry,
I really think you are being arkward about this or just dont get it.
Surely a maiden winner rated 85 that beat 12 horses and NOT 1 has ever won a race
is weaker
than a maiden winner rated 85 that beat 12 horses and 11 have won races sunsequent?

Mister A
you are correct, hence why formgrids in certain cases (especially early on) in a horses career is FAR more valuable than "ratings" alone.
I use formgrids whenever i play in SA, i can say that many people use it and could not punt without it because in the 1st 4 races on most programmes (maidens) you an find value and different angles based purely on form

correct,, also after each racemeeting you go through each race and amongst other things see which races the days winners have come from and make notes for the future,,, thats why its a homework tool and form does not lie,,,

MR A
BUT there is NO harm in linking in "current" worktimes (usa version) because a horse might be "the one" as per formgrids but he has been off the course for 276 days and has not done any bullet work and worked 5f in 108:45 last of 44
so a hybrid of simple formgrids and current available data is the future (as we have discussed many times)
