Pulling your chain Hibs...........lol

I can understand that, due to the fact that by far the majority of races in the US are conditions type races, that handicapping would be a far more utilised tool than collaterals.
It would seem to me that an ideal forecasting tool would be to rate all horses, based on the MR way of measuring ability, and when the horses "MR" are applied to the fields,it would clearly reflect the well handicapped horses.
It would obviously be necessary for horses to have different "MR" for different conditions/surfaces,to be optimum.

BarryIrwin, thanks for the kind words at the beginning of your post,,, we did indeed meet for a chat,,, first off you contradict ex-chief handicapper Vee Moodly who was one of the handicappers on the international handicapping panel, he said many very good things about this product improving a players skill immensely,, and his comments about Formgrids differs somewhat from yours, so do Mike De Kocks, as well a few other racing experts, mine included ,, in 95 I almost stuck out !3 of the country’s top bookmakers using Formgrids, so using this system is extremely viable for racegoers,, Formgrids is not only about collateral form and we haven’t even developed our collateral section properly yet,,, there is a lot more to this tool,, you should have a longer look,,, it is an excellent record and in its simplicity it is a great base for any district/countries/ racing, for cards and results,, owner/trainer/jockey/breeder/sire/mare stats and it is presented in a very useable format,,, it can make a complex data encrusted game much easier to use and is still very much in the development stage,,, by the way not all Americans rely on speed figures,, and if I don’t use the speed figure thing, which I don’t, then it doesn’t make speed figures dead to the world, so if you don’t use Formgrids don’t declare it DOA,,, peoples opinions differ,,, " 40 years ago TRD was given $50,000 in seed money provided gratis by Santa Anita Park " wow nice to have forward thinking people in the industry in the USA,,, this side all they give me is bad attitude,,, how much father and more useful would Formgrids have been if our racing administrators had supported us one iota

Racing in South Africa doesn't care enough about its customers, which are punters, they care about control and the status that comes from the status quo. If they cared about their customers, they would invest in your product. But they don't.

spot on Barry,, the government of SA need to recognise that racing IS AN INDUSTRY as well as a sport that brings in mega bucks in taxes and treat it with more seriousness by putting the right checks and balances in place to provide for development,, boards made up by members from all sectors of the industry that can override the handful of admistrators who run racing as their own private power tool,, if you are on the in then its good if not you cant get time of day

Nice comment BI - When you are in town I am sure that you sit pretty close to the almighty of SA racing so for you to observe and make these comments says that some of our thinking, although at times extereme, we touch on the truth. Sometimes our observations are so painfully obvious: "they care about control and the status that comes from the status quo"

Thanks for this.

Just getting back to the thread and based as my background as a consultant in productivity, it's strange but basic, when you visit a plant or a company and speak to the employees and management and give them a report , your are basically telling them what they already know but are all too busy to change it themselves ?

Ps we tend to listen to outsiders (include myself) rather than their own customers and employees

Food for thought

Not the best of July`s imo,she has nothing to lose ,and don`t forget she outstayed them Majorca stakes..

plus what if she won? to win 3 grade 1s in the same season over 1200m,1600m and 2200m, your talking about superstar status....
