gordo your point is very valid considering that Jackson is the talking horse for the big race and not just a hopeful so I can imagine that Teetan will be feeling the pressure,he is a very good rider and may well be able to pull it off but is on a hiding to nothing as if he gets beaten the blame will no doubt fall squarely on his shoulders....

Saksy point taken which is why i am going for Jackson but surely you cant believe that a trainer like MDK would not have left something to work with in Vettel that was also not his "peak run"..if I was offered a choice to have 2/1 Jackson to win or 52/1 Vettel to place I know where my money would be...

Prior to the Daily News Jackson had 1 run after a 3 month break. Vettel had 4 runs within the space of 7 weeks.

On that basis who is the likely improver?

Obviously those who took a punt at 330-1 each way is sitting happy but lets remember Vettel was at a big price when he was running in a few mickey mouse handicaps and his place in the July was unlikely at best at that stage.

The current place bet on Vettel is more like 3-1. Personally I would rather have Jackson at 2-1 to win than 3-1 on Vettel for a place.

Let me put the cat amongst the pigeons - if Jackson is not within 6 to 8 lengths of the leading horse turning into the straight, he won't win the July! Reason i say this, in the Derby, with the Kenilworth long straight, he took an eternity to overhaul Variety Club, likewise in the Daily News, he only caught and passed Vettel in the last 220m or so. Admittedly once he caught both horses, he won going away, however in the July, i have this sneeky feeling someone is going to try and steal the race whilst Jackson tries to navigate his way through the traffic for that clear run, by then, it may be in vain.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Jackson should cruse it, with Karis aboard, he has
Done it on more than one occasion, to prove that he can handle
Pressure and ride a top horse, and other favorites

vettel is only one of 4 horses that can beat jackson if he get a dream run like always......i spend about 50hours+ watching every race, study every formline of the july....tribal dance ,vettel, viva maria and ilha bela
if he doesnt get that dream run,and the chances are very very good because if he draw inside he will be boxed by al they frontrunners and wont have enough time to get into gear or will be too far back because he takes time to kick....and if drawn wide he will have to run wide and i dont think he is as good as dynasty(that done it) with 57kg on his back
