Hi Deon and welcome to ABC. For me this July is shaping up to be one of the weakest July's I can remember. Jackson look top class but will carry more weight than a 3 year old has ever had to carry before. Your top older horses like Bravuru and Pierre Jordaan are bably off form. This brings in horses like Chesalon, English Garden, Beach Beauty and Tales of Bravery of the older horses. For the 3 year olds other than Jackson the results of the other races produce a different result every time they are run.
The Cup trial and Gold Challenge will be informative to see how some of the runners are shaping up at the moment but I will wait for the final field, weights and draws are annouced before getting heavily involved.

Thanx Shrek. I agree. Except for Jackson and Beach Beauty the field seem off this year. Im sure things will warm up as soon as the final field is out on the 21st. At this stage I like Silver Flyer and Chesalon.
Hopefuly the winner will show it self nearer to race day.

It's amazing how you guys forget that PJ was one win away from the Triple Crown and IMO didn't get beaten by a better horse that day, but rather by the conditions.....
His last two runs have excuses and I firmly believe he is much better without blinkers......
He more than likely won't win on Saturday but thats ok by me. I think, at 28/1 he is great place value in the July.
Am I smoking my socks????

No Tommy, you not. I have the same thinking. You must remember that he was the runner-up in last year's July......not too far back off Igugu. I just hope for a good run over the weekend and then it will give me a little more confidence. (tu)

Along the same lines i will be following English Garden PJ and Bulsara what price would Igugu be if in the july just looking for English Garden to carry the same or less weight. as far as PJ goes if he gets somewhere near his best IMO this current lot are in trouble.
