Ilha Bela shouldn't even be mentioned in the same thread as Igugu!!>:D<
Anyone here thinks if Igugu was in this Field,Jackson would stand a chance?

Igugu won each leg of the triple tiara by a country mile, murdered them in the woolavington and this time last year was around 28/10 3/1. Ilha bella did is exceptionally far from that, and to have her at 6/1 second favourite is ludacris. I think beach beauty at 12/1 and 5/2 a place seems a far better bet.

Igugu carried 55kg's and IB will carry prob 52kg's if you think she is 3kg's inferior to Igugu then back her otherwise take ShezaP's advice and copper her completely

Well Silver Flyer only won the Dingaans & based on his runs, may not get the July Trip, he may just sneak 6th so you can collect some place money on the tote Titch

you stick with your fancy & I'll stick to mine, after all this is the July and there will be many horses fancied by many clanners

Absolutely correct~ however I have it on very good authority that since the gelding last month Silver Flyer has grown an extra leg..IF we race tomorrow (unlikely) I wanted to see him bring that improvement to the track b4 making a final decision on him

agra my whole punting philosophy is based around VALUE and i have backed the following ...silver flyer ew at 40 to 1,chesalon 80 to 1 bulsara 80 to 1 solo traveller 150 to 1 top seller 80 to 1 castle thorp 66 to 1 gold onyx 80 to 1...jackson is a worthy favourite but for me his biggest negative is his riders inexperience in what is the roughest race in the country run on a track where you are almost always on a turn ..ila bela price is an absolute joke and i would have thought after her last run she would be around 20 to 1 now...i cannot see beach beauty winning with 58.5......i am hoping that silver flyer runs a good enough race tomorow BUT doesnt pick up a penalty for the july...he has massive ability and his second to variety club when he had to travel down to the cape for the guineas shows that he is not far off jackson on a line through variety club...no doubt the gelding will help him plus he should recieve weight from jackson minimun 2kg.......he has won twice at greyville which doesnt harm his chances

So does it matter whether Silver Flyer wins tomorrow or not for his weight in the July?

tommy if he wins tomorow or lets say the handicaper percieves him to have run above his rating of 108 he can be penalised and carry more weight in the july...the same applies to the rest of the july nominees in the field...some of them in my opinion are borderline to make the final july field eg gold onyx so unfortunately for punters when placing bets you have to take these factors into consideration as if the game wasnt hard enough...remember the weights for the july are at the sole descretion of the handicaper without neccesarily having regard for horses merit ratings...
