In good faith I have just taken the passport of Dynamic Dynasty to the NHRA offices in Jhb. On handing it over to Mr Du Randt he accuses The Shams of illegal dealings and says "the Shams heads will roll"

The nerve of Du Randt, thinks he can bully all and sundry ....shame on you!!!... The Shams have done more for racing than you can even dream of doing....

We are in Kmb now as part of the NHRA requirement for Stef to have an Assistant license . We have written to Mr.Du Randt and asked him to clarify his threat.

Never have or will back down from the Truth.

My friend from England thinks the trucks used here in SA to transport Race Horses looks like the trucks they use for Cattle !!!
Allowing a horse to race without a passport is just wrong , but what is really right about most things pertaining to Racing !!!!

Hibs, for the record ... I backed it... and also to the Visser double with Grand Alado ..short head second. Was too long in the betting at 33/1.

This whole issue will be played down, but the circumstances are not great for racings image.
The official story will be that the "chip" was checked ..............blah dee blah..........history of Kimberley says Hmm Hmmm???
Too late to establish whether it was in fact Dynamic Dynasty that ran .......... the timing of a betting coup is interesting bearing in mind the apparent cash situation of the stable,as indicated by another thread.
The regulators ,whose role it is to uphold the integrity of the industry,chose this race to allow a horse without a passport to run and forgot to include the fact in the official report(in spite of the betting activity)..............and chooses to now add it as an addendum,having been caught out in the omission..
Who do this lot answer to???

Surely if a ''chip'' is scanned or whatever techical method they use to identify the horse then this information has to be recorded onto some digital device and would be available to view?

Greg, the scanner they use just picks up the microchip no, actually don't know if it even stores the nos but will find out.

Point is that as a trainer you should not nominate a horse if you don't have it's passport.

There are sometimes reasons why a passport is not at the races. Craig gives his reason earlier. A few weeks ago a Jhb trainer was stuck on the highway behind an accident and couldn't get to the course on time, so the horse ran on the microchip but the passport was handed in later so vaccinations could also be checked.

Sorry what the hell is the use of having microchips if ''the evidence'' is not recorded.... Not having a go at you Mark/Dorrie but it doesn't make sense to me...??

Greg, the microchip is put in as a foal after DNA testing to verify parentage. Suppose it is a backup to use with passport as sometimes horses markings even change as they get older.

Will find out about storage and records of scanner.

Not sure if anyone looks at the Mauritian racing website but quite interesting that someone there has questioned this whole episode including comments by the head stipe !! Yet other than this forum nothing in our local press HMMM !
