Zenyatta

I have confirmed with Mikey.

yes it was Limitless. He got fired for that. Laird thought that he made all the money. He did not.
I have the names of 3 people that did. One of those are dead now.

Hopefully some of you on the forum will remember the incident when a punter made over a million (may have been in the region of 2.5M) an a few all to comes from a bookie at Wits Tattersalls, 1990 thereabouts. The punter took several variations of the same bet, unfortunately for the bookie every bet clicked. I am told Jeff Lloyd rode the last one for Alec Laird. Apparently the punter sold back half a million to the bookie on the last race. Hopefully someone on the forum can shed more light - maybe not a coup in the true sense, but a wonderful story none the less.

Actually was scared to mention names, apparently town houses and a couple of horses exchanged hands in order to settle the debt?

Another great coup was you wont believe it John Macdonald the trainer .

A horse in Cape town something like DAD army in the name

Cape bookie Graeme i think put the lights out.

When i was young the trainer Johann vAN ECK he could pull magic Jabber i remember was bread and butter.

Who remembers PASS THE LINE winning feature at Gosforth Park Mike Riley owner caught 10 pick 6s won more than 2 million 2 years later he was out.

Derek Flynn backed Drumdeedoo from 25-1 into 10-1 to win 2 million at gosforth park .

Derek was good.
He took racing and punting to a new level.
Costa Livanos pulled a few goos ones with Roy Curlig.
Stuck bookmaker Ismael Vali into the closet.

Corne Spies has become very shrewd punting horses in Kimberly

That Benny Deane move was fantastic 2-1 in Kimberly.

Even the late Shedi from Loveday st with his weight could have ridden him home,
