Louis,no need to explain yourself AGAIN
Your spot on,the owner pays the bills. He has a right to know first and if he gives the ok after he has had a bet, then that's he's
prerogative. If I owned a horse and it was punted in before I was on it wouldn't run, simple as.
And don't worry,I've done that before..

Pirates if there were no bookies to begin with there would be no problem. 1 pool would present a true and more efficient market and everyone gets 1 price. There isn't enough kesef in the game and bookies dilute te whole show for trainers, owners and punters! It's blindingly obvious!

saksy there is definitly a place for both bookies and tote you cannot rely and depend on our tote for reasons that been highlighted on here for years...either our bookies have to grow a pair of you know what or as rob faux says open up betfair scenario for all...davetheflower when the book is printed for the racemeeting the floor is open for anyone to back those horses running

Pirates, assuming the tote got their act together and offered a good product, good facilities etc, which is made more difficult because there is a shortage of funding (which imvho bookies are partly to blame for) please can you explain how bookies add anything to the sport other than cause corruption, debt and market distortions? I'm all ears!!

louisg you again do not under stand it is no me that is ignorant. when i put my massive bet of 5000/700 the horse is all ready shorten from 10/1 - 13/2 on betting world. what you want i must do phone to here if i can now punt because the owner he is no finish. allso let me say i find it very strange that mr jooste will want to punt hes horse so i think your post is all rubbish. does the owner deserve to have the first bet? off course he do. when i post after place my bet the market is open for more than the day. i think you the one that must under stand.

Are we not overlooking a basic contractual principle here?
In any industry,if I pay a service provider to perform a service,I am the only one entitled to feedback/information in respect of that service.................. (how would you react if your Doctor gave your medical results to the community..........lol)
I question whether a trainer is,in reality, legally entitled to give a feedback report,of a provided service,to anyone other than the payor of the service/training fees without their permission???
(The NHA rules refer to "improper " information to persons other than owners???(No definition of "improper" and I'm not sure the NHA know what to do with it)

This is the most pertinent point that has been made on this site in ages, and it is something that needs to be addressed asap.
The manipulation of prices on Interbet should be investigated by the gambling board.

Agreed ..........I need to know the value of the odds received.............nobody buys shares and gives an instruction to sell on a specific date(similar to the starting time) regardless of price.
I would welcome a "fixed odds" tote (its called a betting exchange :S)...........could that be the key to "getting their act together"?
So far ,the tote shows no sign of giving the punter a reasonable product,as the large take-outs ensure too little value to any reasonable bet.

i agree...interbet is a joke and the worst thingfor racing as it presently stands....but that doesn't mean there is no place for a product like interbet..
take tomorrows 1st race at Fairview as an example...there is R250 available on the second price horse at 4/1...if i take that 1000/250...and leave that column empty ..tomorrow morning u can be rest assured that the horses price will be 33/10....that is bullshit....they must wake up and offer opening lays of R25000 of every horse that would solve the issue of where the money is.....it seems that interbet is the benchmark at the moment for claims...so they must take the initiave and act as a claims board....after the R25000 has been laid then they can readjust...at the moment its a JOKE
