might be so but they say where there is smoke .......
this guy said " I think its also time the NHRA launches an investigation into their passports. Vaccinations get signed by a Jhb vet. When last did anybody see the Jhb vet, must be 18 months ago. It must be very easy to trace the vet's visits, Recall Security must sign him in at the security gate."
and earlier in the thread

I'm still of the opinion that the local trainers sit around a bush fire over the weekends preceding race days, usually Mondays, and decide where their runners will finish every Monday @ Flamingo Park.

probably not but then there would be no need to report to them on the horse running at a meeting outside their jurisdiction ...

But is there not a requirement for AHS innoculation when travelling ????

I fully agree with Vernon Rugg. The playing fields are not level in Kbly, we know that for a fact as evidence was handed to the NHA in Kbly on 29/07.
The substance that get used stimulates the horse’s own adrenal gland to secrete large amounts of cortisol into the bloodstream during physical exercise. This causes a euphoric response in the brain as well as a potent anti-inflammatory effect. As cortisol is naturally secreted in your body during physical exercise it is difficult to prove that a horse was given this banned substance, because the levels of cortisol will differ from one horse to another.
After 3 to 6 months the side effects begin to show as the adrenal gland stops secreting cortisol naturally.
Side effects of this drug:
*Failure to shed fully
*Chronic infections
*Hoof abscesses
*Inflammation of the blood vessel walls
*Congestive heart failure
*Bleeding in the brain
*Pressure in the brain
*Ulcers
*Pancreas problems
*Loss of muscle mass, typically over back and hind quarters
*Fractures
*Infertility
The use of this drug can be seen in the results of the races over the last few months. Horses run poor races, all of a sudden a brilliant run or two and then they are gone again, or horses start to perform when they come to Kbly, runs a few good races and then two or three bad races and you don’t see them again.
If a person just looks at the flow of horses in a certain trainer’s yard, it is quite unbelievable. They race, they perform, they stop performing, they get sold for R1000 or R1500 each. These horses get loaded 4 and 5 at a time.
Surely this is not just thieving, this is also animal abuse. Obviously this trainer have no feelings for his horses, to him they are there to make money, but these owners - don’t they care for their horses. All owners want their horse or horses to bring in money and at least pay for their keep, but it is also about the pleasure of owning a race horse, winning with them and then also your love for that animal. Buying and racing horses are very expensive so we all want to look after our horses and race them as long as we can.
I spent my morning looking up horses from certain yards in Kbly, its frightening. They are stealing from other trainers, owners and punters.

redfeather what you are claiming is that there is blatant animal abuse and cheating by a "certain stable" and the NHA are turning a blind eye to it??? these are serious accusations and you have a duty to the Industry to hand over the proof that you obviously have to the authorities so that action can be taken..and this cruelty will decease, Im shocked that you havent already followed up.....

Something as serious as this should surely not take close to a month to act on...given the facts? presented...
