proteas take on india

so its 3 odi 's and 2 test...we in for a very interesting series here some things that bother me
1. enoughtof testing and experimenting and play your full 11 that you going to take to world cup
2. ryan maclaren should not be left out of the side as he is in excellent form and he deserves his place
3. we need to show more aggression with the bat we first 10 overs we do ohkay but then we die off in the middle overs(ab should have a bowl first and let the sa batsmen watch how to bat through the middle overs with aggresion)
4. let quinton and amla open(smith has a terrible record against zaiheer khan)
5. our bowlers can sort themselves out but batsmen are a major concern
overall this going to be a really tough series really looking forward to it and hope the proteas overcome their demons.

Should be an interesting series as our bowling is strong and our batting is weak, whereas India's batting is strong but their bowling is weak.

Spin shouldnt be too much of a problem in SA

Main problem with the one-day side imo is that nobody is sure about what the best team looks like - easy to say 'play the best 11' - but at the very least the statement should read 'play your best eleven taking into account the conditions and the pitch' - no sense in playing Tahir on a wicket that is unlikely to help the spinners, and on the other hand, not wise to have 5 seemers at Newlands
I think the Pakistan spinners (especially Ajmal) are better than the Indian spinners, so I think we will put a better show; however we need a good opening partnership and I agree that de Kock and Amla fits the bill - Kallis at 3, AB at 4 and then a toss-up between Duminy and Du Plessis at 5 (Duminy preferred as he gives the option of being either a second spinner or a backup in case Tahir is not in the side); Miller at 6; important to have at least one batsmen set when you reach the last 10 to 15 overs - more runs are being scored in the last 10 overs since the fielding side is only allowed 3 fielders on the boundary - so I'd rather have a slowish start with wickets in hand than a quick start and no batsmen at the crease to take advantage ot the last 15 overs
Imo Tsotsobe is also a problem - he normally goes for a lot of runs apart from his first spell - so if you play him, you really need Duminy or another bowler to fall back on - but the other side to the argument is that Tsotsobe normally takes a wicket or 2 in his first 6 overs and he does give the variety of being a lefty - as is Parnell of course - so the choice is between a guy likely to take a wicket or two up front, vs someone who is a better option (imo) at the death
Steyn picks himself, so that means if you have Mclaren in the side, only two of Morkel, Philander (in doubt for tomorrow I hear - so that makes selection a bit easier) and Tahir can play
Looking forward to some good cricket - yes we disappointed against Pakistan, but we really threw away the 2nd game, so should actually have won the series if not for some poor judgement by both Amla and De Villiers when throwing away their wickets when all that was needed was to knock the ball around for some singles

With India fielding and their powerhouse batting line up take some of the 11/10 or 12/10 on offer.

I agree - get the feeling that whatever we make will not be enough
