For all the moaners ...how do we tell this owner that we have to run his filly from these draws....

Can't go back further but it was not much better..

Array of Stars

30 Dec Drew badly and ran from 11/12 against the boys

10 Jan running drawn 16/16

24 Jan nominated twice...drawn 35/36 and 31/36

29 Jan nominated and drawn 34/37

Hi Shams you can write a letter to NHA and they do look at past draws and they do something..I can't remember exactly how it works but I know they do take it into account somehow

As its in Africa , i assume maybe a brown envelope could change the draw outcome?

I know you can't "change" the outcome once its drawn BUT i also KNOW when i did rides that sometimes the draws were "redone" due to human erros or an omission of a horse or some "excuse" which invariably produced the correct draw for the party paying

I don't see how this is possible unless the draws are rigged. What you are saying is like if the horse always runs out of the money then the guys in charge of racing will ensure that the next time it runs will earn a cheque lol. I guess there's nothing impossible in racing these days.

G, sometimes you need to think before you write bud?? for an example there is a ruling that states that if a horse is eliminated twice from a race due to a low merit rating then that horse is guaranteed a run when next nominated nothing "rigged" or untoward with the ruling just giving the owner and the horse a chance to earn, I believe as Oscar stated that there is now a ruling that has been introduced to accommodate horses that continually get bad draws...racing is not only about punting there are owners that pay hefty bills to keep a horse in training and if their horse continually gets drawn badly they are deprived of a fair chance of recouping some of those expenses, so the new ruling if it is in fact in place now is for the betterment of racing, Bud Boy is another that has time and time again gotten bad draws...

Titch this is the 1st time I heard of this rule, where can I find a list of updated rules like this 1. In my opinion this rule is nonsense, as sometimes in racing a bad draw favours certain horses. Also which owners are being given the benefit of this ruling? Surely Sham being a trainer would have been familiar with this rule and taken it up with RA instead of posting.

I did say in my post ... the new ruling if it is in fact in place now is for the betterment of racing,

I will phone the Jockey Club tomorrow and check if it has been implemented, I can remember discussing the subject with a member of GC some months back and was told then that a proposal had been put forward...BTW a bad draw over a 5 furlong @ Greyville will not suit any horse
