whenever something they dont like is written on ABC they get their friends to write for them, and expect action by Dave, so they want a say on ABC but wont support ABC,,, seems like cake and eat it to me,, if ABC is insignificant then why do they care about what is on ABC , if it is significant then support it and work TOGETHER for the benifit of RACING and the OWNERS

its called being insecure in your job with the knowledge that you shouldnt really be in it as there are plenty others who can do it better..this is prevelant throughout the horseracing industry im afraid

David i am not arguing the role your site plays or ABC this whole thread was an attack on the R / A where all industry shortcomings were put at the R/A door . or on 1 individual..

Flash we have never asked RA to PAY for FORMGRIDS, but to take down the ad that they HAD on FORMGRIDS and tell me RA cant afford 2500 pm to advertise keep ad on very busy FORMGRIDS website with users from all over the world makes me laugh, especially when they already put in an offer to BUY FORMGRIDS

On Saturday, I had a few punting mates around to watch the racing and have a few bets.
The racing was good and sponsors had made a huge effort to make the Queens plate a memorable day
Is it unreasonable to expect the operators to play their part?
As usual ,Saftote failed miserably and from my lounge alone ,over R36000 was placed on the open bet as the bookmakers sites were working!!
As stakes come from tote takeout ,should the RA be concerned? of course, but will they bite the hand that feeds them...........or even criticise them?......or has it got nothing to do with them.
This happens everytime there is a big meeting!

But if the tote recovered all stakes lost to the open bet, they could be 25% higher still............or are they satisfied?

i have paid my own way keeping FORMGRIDS running for 10 years, bookmakers have always wanted to PAY handsomely to advertise on FORMGRIDS and even do joint ventures with us using bet now buttons linking into their sites, i have agreed and stuck to not promoting the open bet up to now in support of the tote for the purpose of supporting the takeout for the operators so how do you think i see it when RA pulls a tiny tiny ad off my site quoting cant afford it when its not even their own money they control,, Clyde saw it worth while to advertise for the RA on FORMGRIDS and after he left those in charge not, FORMGRIDS get thousands of visits a day and i will be prepared to show Google stats,, how many visits does the RA site get,, why put up a site and not advertise it on the countries busiest website ,, sticky eyes ave 14 min per visitor

If 'they' (RA, Racing Trust, P, NHA) would just for once and all explain to us plebs how the whole thing works, there would be much less reason for confusion; so the RA gets a % (how much) of the Noms and Acceptance Fees; as I understand they also get funded (via the Racing Trust and how much) by the operators (money from the tote) in order to provide stakes? Currently I don't think many of us understand how it works - and this leads to speculation and confusion, etc etc
It's all and well and good to say that without the RA the stakes would be 25% lower - but explain to us why this would be the case :S
