And yes David we could certainly do with help from the industry and Bob is well underpaid for his efforts to SA racing.
We do need help to cover expenses and feel our positive contributions ignored and our negatives receive high priority a press :(

i understand your frustration coz as you know we share the same pains keeping racing sites running as best as we can mostly out of our own pockets,, maybe louisg or the Shams can set up a meeting for you with the relevant role players and some financal assistance can be arranged for you, after all its not their own money they are spending but money generated by the industry that should be pumped back into the industry,,,

Savasp, you confirm my point exactly. Thank You.

A thread on Larry, whom you have never met, twists into a personal attack on Clyde......

Mister a, I love your site, it is an essential tool in my job. As I have said before, I would be happy to subscribe and so would many others. This will create the necessary funds for you and hopefully, a tidy profit, which you richly deserve.
The bottom line is that firstly, this thread is about RA membership/ Larry's statement. Secondly, I just dont buy the rubbish which is oft written here, rubbish which has no substance, written by people hiding behind a pseudonym, who dont even own horses and yet they comment as if owners. When there is a comp, with a R100 buy in, there are many who either complain about the R100 being too much or who just stay out. This leads one to question the actual influence on turnover that these forumites may have.....

Mister A, the only time that I would reconsider my RA membership would be if they sponsored your site. And this has nothing to do with the quality of your site nor with the benefits of using your site. I just do not see it as their job in Racing. And then again, there will DEFINITELY be forumites who would declare you to be "in bed" with RA....
Lastly, just how does any person, any forumite who is openly hostile on this or any forum expect to be welcomed with open arms by the very operators, associations and persons who that person has continually slated here? I know that I definitely wouldnt. That's just common sense.

louisg ive never asked for the RA to sponsor Formgrids, only asked them to take a small ad on Formgrids to advertise their own site, we sometimes have 6 pages per second used on Formgrids, but to tell me they cant afford a simple R2500 pm ad is laughable,, shows me plenty,, why did they spend so much on their own website if its not important, then cant afford to advertise on SA's busiest horseracing website,

Let me ask you Louis, do you think this site has any positive contribution to racing?
Plus I am aware that the operators would not come to the party and considering we try to remain neutral it would be even more difficult to run an open forum with potential hand cuffs.

all i say is the RA cut a R2500 pm ad on Formgrids saying they cant afford it,, what rubbish,, they spent a fortune on their RA website and wont advertise on Formgrids which sometimes has 6 pages used per second,,,

ABC is a chat site and is not responsible for turnovers

with the amount of OWNERS using Formgrids daily maybe the RA could be seen as in bed with us

there will always be hostility in this world, ABC gives the opertunity to resolve these things and keep unhappy owners in the game, and it can be done in less hostile manner if the industry works hand in hand with ABC

I agree with you on being against people hiding behind a pseudonyms,, so if the powers that we find ourselves delt with talk to DAVE and assist him something can be done about it,,,,

i ask you again lg why if racing in phum country is so great you are moving to natal where they openly admit to 2 issues you have argued and fought against and thats the promoting of mediocrity by banning satelite yards from opening and current ones having mr 80 and below in races and secondly the race program in natal introducing quaified maiden plates and plenty lower division hcaps akin to your half stakes meetings which were abolished..plus stakes in gauteng are way better.and lets remember there is no equalivent to the ra in natal and the owners are not represented in an official capacity on the gold circle board

Imo unhappy owners is R/ A responsibility if you a R / A member, unhappy punters is different and they cant hold or blame the R / A for industry shortcomings.

no one blaming RA,, ABC is a chat site and racing people express themselves here be it owner or punter, not asking the RA to do anything except what it and the rest of the industry should be doing anyway,, check THEIR mission statements ,, all preach the good of the game but when incentives are started and done by outsiders i say the people in positions that can assits should assist instead of watching on the sidelines while others suffer while for doing good for racing,,
