Yes he was consistently get pissed on, why would we look past the top 3 or 5,horse racing is supposed to be a game of skill and we rely on form to make a go of it..

especially in Grade 1 races

he has never been far off the best of his generation and he has a trainer who knows how to train group one winners and a jockey who knows how to ride them...THERE WAS NO LUCK INVOLVED with his win good luck to his connections

Like Anton in the 6th, he was allowed a soft lead and cantered around and sprinted for home. Hard to accelerate past a horse that has a few lengths on you and has been allowed to do that. Both took full advantage of the slow pace they themselves set. As Kevin Shea said at Scottsville the other day to the Jockeys sitting 2nd and 3rd and a few lengths off Anton, " Anton is cantering in front and for sure he is setting the pace for himself and not you!"

exactly craig...

but saying that IMO the also rans never gave their true runnings because they were under cooked.

So what happens next time they all meet and we have a drastically different result? i`m talking as a punter who likes to win now and then..

Great result for the connections, i`m delighted for them, but as punters should we not expect a true run race,it wisnae some daft £3k seller at Kempton, it was a grade1!!!!!!

KoP had beaten his rivals previously so it panned out again ystday
Open for debate as I may b wrong but was on course ystday n the general view was dat Yorker was gettin a prep run for the July: BB won't run in da July: CTN avoidin to carry a burden in the July n hence ran accordingly.
Debated issue Did the form horses run slightly below par because of the July weights?

?......the way the races were run prior to King of Pain gave him a big chance running on from off them......was
Stunned at how slow they go and him resorting to front running tactics.......I only punted for places because of the jocks trend to find 2nd box......had it in my P6 but did only because horse owes me......went out 2nd leg only......the pace in most races were suspect....too much cape crawling.....::o

I am not in the Yorker camp, but when I saw the horse 350m out going very easy ,I thought it was going to romp away with the race.Maybe hit a "bad" patch of grass down the middle and not going through with his run? Maybe...

He won because 'they' finally realized that he is at best when going to the front ?
