.....are we also questioning the race commentator who may have influenced us by making comments on the slow pace.....the start was also messy and allowed BB to beat the draw and imvho with consummate ease....a truly irregular run race....however watching the replay here on Youtube with the sound off.....nothing looks and seems wrong at all......guess I was maybe seeing things on the 55inch plasma at home which showed BFH scrubbing away into the straight with his elbows at his ears.....(:D

I only watched race 2 and I thought the track was cutting up a bit, to me via tv track did not look in good condition.

For me, as a spectacle, the 2014 Durban July must go down as the worst July ever. Greyville looks an abomination with the two courses and is no longer picturesque, the horrible pace was a travesty (Captain America almost fell), the myopic view of the grass track, and the race itself did not even feel like a Durban July. Perhaps someone has moved my cheese and just I dont know how to adapt.

DITTO......I was extremely negative after weights issue and did not have the regular July Vibe when I saw what the track looked like on the day of the gallops......the lack of pace makers or the draws of some that could have led......from the jump I was screaming for them to pick up the pace....then saw good horses flop and stumble and knew that something was amiss when Legislate could not pass Willie Hall......I was screaming for an objection not for Legislate to get it......I wanted them to declare the whole race null and void..... what a farce!!!!!!
