If OP doesn't get jail, I think that it will cause quite a reaction from many people who believe the verdict and sentence does not reflect justice.
I also think that a light supervision type sentence will make other partners more liable to accidents...................lol

No disrespect meant but the courts are paying him far too much respect

Just being honest and no offence intended, the whole thing just leaves me bewildered and somewhat angry. I confess I have not watched so much etc but is this really being seen as fair and justice being done? The judge has said things that I think are absolute nonsense and I don't get how anyone can come to some of the conclusions she did. And wtf is a round of applause for her birthday all about, this is a "murder" case ffs, personally I found that really distasteful and belittling towards Reeva's memory. I am sure that was not the intention but nevertheless can't these people show a little thought and respect? And why is the prison man telling everyone about prison problems, wtf has that got to do with anything?? Prisons aren't meant to be lovely palaces, they are where the bad people should go to suffer. No need to be inhumane of course but really. I am sorry to say that as an international viewer, the legal system in SA needs a radical overhaul cos if this is an example of it, tis a joke.

It shouldn't be the judges concern how our prisons are in SA...That should be the concern of the correctional services of our country..People are sentenced to prison on a daily basis whether they have a disability or not..If jail time fits the crime then the perpetrator must do the time...The judge musnt be swayed by how OP will deal in jail..The judge must decide whether the crime is befitting of doing time in jail and that's it...I would say that in my opinion OP should do some time in jail as watching the trial there are far more negative questions against him then positives....Whatever happens OP has to deal with his actions for the rest of his life...Unfortunately the Steenkamp family are also gonna have to deal with his action for the rest of there lives

What I am amazed about if the same stories about prison conditions, blah, blah, are plead for Vusi Sithole and Joe Soap.
The judge got a "happy birthday?" For goodness sake, it's like a pantomine.

Chaps, lemme tell you how f-d up our system is. In Regional court mr x is convicted of robbing a cashier in a fish and chops shop of 4000 ZAR. He held a knofe to her throat and actually cut into her flesh - she needed 11 stitches.
Next case is a mate. Lawyer. In terms of a trust deed he had control of a family trust. Borrowed an amount and paid it back. His partner in the law firm pointed this out to the auditors. He pleads guilty and does not waste the courts time. HE KNOWS HE WAS WRONG. Probation officer says he is good for house arrest. Same judge for the fish shop case gives my mate 3 years. On his 3rd day in jail, he cannot pay a big enough bribe and is raped.
Now le's talk about justice......
I don't expect sympathy. All I am saying is what makes OP so special that he should escape jail
Human rights will kill SA.

Nothing makes him special....he must get wot he deserves for taking a life. I have a feeling he will sit in jail for a couple of years

The surprise for most legal experts was his acquittal of murder "dolus eventualis"-the MINIMUM sentence for that would have been 15 years !!!!!! That verdict was close enough for anything less than 10 years to be surprising -but "justice" surprises every day as Haupie says.
