If you in Africa, you innocent until proven guilty with no suspension and full pay. The tennis tournament held at Indian Wells, the CEO resigned for discriminatory remarks towards women within a week.

U are correct in that companies and bodies will not condone that behaviour. However, both of us were not there. I would like to read a post from someone who was actually there.....
The point is that no company or body can ever expect their people to be assaulted and just stand there and take it , either.

The most relevant point for me is that the whole thread is aimed at insulting Larry, as usual - it's all about his suit and about him. The other guy in the fight remains nameless, which nobody is bothered by. Just as long as we have Larry to blame and insult. It's the same old same old ABC thing.

Opinions are great, nobody is wrong. But maybe we need more facts ?

Louis,I have never been a member of the RA and having given up my colors have no ties to the NHA either. My original post did not even mention Larry by name as I was referring to the representative position rather than the personality(I only expanded when accused of pretending to be a saint...lol)
Let me explain my original point in the simplest terms that I can:
NHA rules 72.1.25 and 72.1.26 are very clear and there is no reference to any qualification such as "unless provoked"
If those rules apply to ordinary NHA members, can there be any justification for not applying them to a member of the NHA board(He is a "non-elected" member of the board as OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE)
...............hence my original comment: If it is true, there are no options!!!!!!

In the corporate world if a CEO assault another person when carrying out his duties he will have definitely breached his conduct. Could amount to Dereliction of Duty ?

Yes and they got punished ,but a jockey giving another a slap in the jockeys room ,or a trainer in a joust with another does not equate to a high profile senior representative, one minute handing over cheques and trophies on the podium and then chasing after a member of the public, on a crowded racecourse, and punching him.( I didn't see it but I'm told that is what happened from various sources)
Again I say "If it is True" then I am sure that Larry is very remorseful, and concerned but I keep going back to my original post ..................some actions can't be reversed unfortunately and things have to take their course ..................and sometimes options are scarce!

Guys not taking sides but if any body Called me a C--- and insulted my family (so I have heard) he would get more than 1 klap!! No place for this in racing for the instigator and the offender. Love to know who the other guy is.

SA racing must realize that many eyes are on this from all over the world, also local racing is waiting for outcome, normally by now if party A was confident that it was self defense the racing public would have heard the RA board mans version of events so I cant understand why nothing has been put out to the racing public, or at least I haven't seen it, confused speculation is not a healthy thing for anyone, Andy O'Connor said in an interview that there will be no exceptions to the rules whatsoever so the sooner a press release is made the better

I think there are different arguments here, LG has his opinion and is correct on many points .

However firstly Larry is not an Ordinary Member , he is a Director - Therefore he has no option but to step aside and let the rest of the board take over.

Welcome to democracy and the King Code. Once you are a director then you can not act like this And the NHRA are no different to any Private company when it comes to the Conduct of Conduct.

With the Panama leak report - A file containing the PM was shown where he was suspected of having links to off shore bank accounts He did not confirm or deny the facts - He simply resigned - and He was the Prime Minister of Sweeden. So my question to all the Larry Fans - Who the F.... is Larry.

I stand by my opinion on this one - who the fuck is Larry ? He is a man. Simple.

Rob, u harp on and on and on about Larry ' s position and about people in that sort of position in Racing blah blah blah. I realise that u are not a colour holder nor Owner etc and that u could have a grudge against Larry or the Operators . However, I concede that u have a valid point in terms of a code of conduct. But, has one been signed or agreed on specifically ?
Like many others, I would not stand still and be abused or insulted. I would probably act the same as what Larry allegedly did. (We still do not have a first hand account here on this thread). I presume, based on your posts, that u would take the abuse and walk away from this incident. I definitely will not. And believe it or not, most men that I know would not.. My title or position in Racing has nothing to do with it. I have the same rights as everyone else. So do you. So does Larry.
We need the facts.
