Do you know what I think the Marinaresco team did today? They sussed LE out...now they know where they have to place M to beat LE. He won't be that far back in the QP, Met I guarantee you. Plus even if LE wasn't 100% I assure you M wasn't close to 100% either...
Anyhow...Can't wait for the next meeting!
Not saying Marineresco wont beat LE at some point but its not a given by any stretch. He ran up close threateningly today but once he got there he wasn't making progress as LE gave more. Horses that have a lightning turn of foot are always more impressive than the one that keeps going from handy and I suspect Marineresco will run a few more seconds in races that he looked like he was going to win. If he runs more handily, will he have the same burst?
Nevertheless, still the most exciting prospect for the coming season, or at least the summer as a he might be off to Trumpland (tm) at the end of it.
See his Winter Classic win. Raced very handy there and had tons in hand at the finish. Okay didn't beat much but did it in his usual manner plus showed he can race handy.
Watch the race now:) I want to disagree.on the fact that it looked as if he didn't have 'his usual' burst in than race from his handy position...the runner up was finishing faster, yeah GvN took it easy, but there wasn't THAT type of burst like today and in the July. He is more of a Pocket Power...

Nice tipping Bob my boy!
Didn't work out too well for QBF. She looked done for down the inside even before a horse came across her and took her out of the race completely.
I don't think she stays the mile imho. Think she may be best up to 7 furlongs. Her sire was a sprinter and her dam won up to a 7.
She is a stunning animal, would be unwise to completely overlook her moving forward.
The winner is typical of her sire for fillies. Small but great action.
