Is it political? The Russians or North Koreans? What motive would anyone have for poisoning this poor animal?

Whatever the outcome, trust me have had many inputs on this subject over and above the forum, the end result is a shocker.

....arsenic was used in small doses by older trainers as part of dietary supplement as they were led to believe that it in some way enhanced performance and condition....there are many references on the internet about its use....and taken from Wiki....Sydney veterinarian Percy Sykes believes poisoning did not cause the death. He said "In those days, arsenic was quite a common tonic, usually given in the form of a solution (Fowler's Solution)", and suggests this was the cause of the high levels. "It was so common that I'd reckon 90 per cent of the horses had arsenic in their system."[25]

In December 2007, Phar Lap's mane was tested for multiple doses of arsenic which, if found, would point to accidental poisoning.

On 19 June 2008, the Melbourne Museum released the findings of the forensic investigation conducted by Dr. Ivan Kempson, University of South Australia, and Dermot Henry, Natural Science Collections at Museum Victoria. Dr. Kempson analyzed six hairs from Phar Lap's mane at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago. These high resolution X-rays detect arsenic in hair samples, showing the specific difference "between arsenic, which had entered the hair cells via the blood and arsenic which had infused the hair cells by the taxidermy process when he was stuffed and mounted at the museum".[26][27] having been dosed with arsenic

After reading 6 pages, and at some point thinking there maybe a positive turnaround to Golden Mirablis's health # and now to read of the horse's demise... very sad. If neglect was involved, I hope there are proper consequences and justice.

How is this possible ?She must have been Starved and if she was not then maybe somebody should find out what she was being "enhanced " with during her racing career . This is totally unacceptable in a game that is supposed to be the Sport of Kings ? Breeding must be CONTROLLED and only a certain amount of Thoroughbreds should be bred each year .
This is Heartbreaking :( There is so much pain and suffering in this world .....
