.....looks like a severe case of stomach ulcers.....horses will go totally off feeding.....and if not properly monitored definitely malnutrition will set in.....big problem letting horses down from racing....the feed and supplements must be weened off gradually and diet slowly changed.....cant just feed a protein rich diet and then throw the horse out to forage for itself..... :S

Ok, guys, there is another side to this story apparently....
Firstly, let me say that here at Vaal, the first string out in the morning is Corne Spies. We are the second lot to get to tracks in the morning and our strings are there at same time - he finishes a few minutes before us. So, we have had some rain and some cold weather and I was speaking to one of our big string, top VaalTrainers yesterday. We both bemoaned the fact that our horses coats have gone a bit backwards in the last two weeks. Yet other Trainers coats hadn't. We thought maybe we are starting too early, when it's still cold....then we said, but Spies starts earliest and his coats still look good. And so do his horses. I cannot say that I have seen a Spies horse looking anything but good.
Having read this article, I would like to point out the following -
1)There was no objection to the filliy's condition from the stipes when she last ran.
2)She left Corne's yard 5 days after the run.
So, where has she been until now ??? (Definitely not locked up in a stable here at Vaal) !!!
Those are the facts that I have been given.

Multi SPOT ON - sudden cut in protein will result in rapid deterioration of condition and muscles, most evident in the hindquarters.

If the owner/breeder was guilty of any wrong doing why would they post pics on facebook of the horse in a seriously bad condition?? Why are they doing anything in there power to help this mare? They bred the horse and had racing shares in her. So they had an emotional and an invested interest in her! Surely if they in the wrong they would not go to social media?

Right guys facts are getting muddled and I'm getting messages with conflicting stories , have been sent the below image dated the 26th Jan and the horse just looks race fit and nothing like the original posted pic !
So I think we should look into locking the thread to we get some facts set straight

I spoke to one of the owners who leased the horse in question and this is a big bullshit story to accuse the trainer .
I , myself seen her in her last start (16 january) when i had horses also in the race and she looked in great shape (like all the trainer's horses )
She left the trainer's yard within a few days to the farm that now accuse the trainer of neglegence and bullshit.
That horse been for almost 2 months at this stud , what happened that they only now moan and accuse but the horse looked fantastic just a few days before she left the yard of trainer.... ?????????
Much more to this than what been said by the accusers, hope the trainer report them , not just for trying to falsely tarnish his name !!!!!!
Before you just post accusations about trainers rather get your facts straight.....
Pathetic by the person/s who started this to say the least.
I honestly think frank38 must show intregity and publicly apologise to the trainer and make his name known. Really pathetic
